And that's the issue they had at WDW. People abusing the "no mask required while eating & drinking" rule. They then said, you have to be seated in an eating area, while eating & drinking to remove your mask.

Yep. I'm sure some people would get around the no mask rule by walking around with a popcorn in hand.

Personally I'm used to wearing it everyday for long hours, and outside, due to my job, so I wouldn't mind if it was required. I don't like wearing the mask, but I follow the rules and I have to enforce them.

Nah, if they were to require masks onboard the ship when restarting operations then they would close that loophole and make you sit/be stationary while eating or drinking. Just like the parks.

Yes, I would wear them. If my daughters as nurses can wear them all day at work, except to eat or drink on their break or lunchtime, I can do it on a cruise ship.

A day at sea wearing a mask, is much better than a day stuck at home not wearing a mask, imo.

Please thank your daughters for their service for me.
They, and all front line workers, are heroes.

Ab-so-lutely.

I don't think we would be comfortable - mask or no mask - until an effective vaccine is available.

Nope!

I have no problems with masks being required, in fact, for the foreseeable future they WILL be required. (I live in a state where they are pretty much mandated and worn EVERYWHERE.)

That being said, I hate wearing a mask and do my best to avoid situations where they need to be worn. (Thankfully we do not have to wear them if we are outside AND can maintain a distance greater than six feet.) Though many people (most?) wear them all the time outside.

I will not pay for an expensive vacation to be claustrophobic. And to be stressed about my distance from people.

I am the original poster and honestly I am floored that this poll is even close. I thought for sure 90% would say no way, like I did. It amazes me how many people will continue to pay top dollar for any experience as long as it has Disney attached to it......and this from someone who has been on 11 Disney cruises and before this year have spent 10 days every August at the Polynesian for the last 20 years.

Maybe. I don't really fit into the "yes" or "no" category, but since our cruise that got PPD 2x (now to Dec 2021) I am realllly dying for a vacation lol.

I have heard some reports from WDW during their initial reopening periods of people saying that this was their favorite WDW trip ever, because they were able to ride every ride multiple times, there was light crowds, the masks didn't bother them, etc.

However, wearing masks is something that really isn't fun and I am not sure if I would want to do it, but I am much more leaning toward "yes" than I would have said a few months ago.

The short wait times for rides is why I'm considering that if my October 2021 cruise gets cancelled to just go to WDW instead. Although I have been hoping for the best, who knows how long it'll be til cruising resumes.

I can't blame you. I have no idea if masks will be required come July 2021 (currently have a trip to Disney World scheduled then) but with all the reports and positive experiences, I'm really tempted to go even if masks are required.

Same for DCL, mainly because my last cruise got PPD/canceled twice, and I haven't been on DCL since July 2017. And, wearing a mask on DCL probably would be more tolerable than WDW since not all public spaces on the ship are outdoors in 150,000 degree heat, lol

mask = no problem

We have 3 cruise reservations at this moment. One Royal and 2 MSC. MSC is sailing a Grandiosa Mediterranean right now and had a number of issues that were dealt with QUICKLY.

No way. We definitely won’t go with masks. Not relaxing that way and way too much money for such an altered experience. We will be canceling our March marvel cruise if masks are required. Getting prepared emotionally to cancel, but would understand it’s a tough situation & will hopefully book same one the following year. We are ready to go mask-free if it’s permitted this coming March though. Whenever we go, I’m sure we will wash hands more, leave more space between us and others & do all those kinds of sensible things but no thanks to being masked on a cruise.

Maybe because masks are becoming an everyday thing for many people and people are finding that wearing them is not as big deal as they thought??? Many people thought WDW with masks would be a big deal but people are seeing its not. Mask wearing is becoming more socially acceptable and people are seeing that its going to be a long term thing and attitudes are chnaging.

Its just like when seatbelts were introduced into cars, there were people who wore them straight away, there were people who refused to wear them and there were people who wore them only when they had to. But now its automatic when you get into a car to wear a seatbelt.

Yes to a certain extent. But not Pool decks and deck 4 ( except during muster and pool deck parties where you have crowds)

I have no issue having mass on in the public areas or during embarkation and disembark. processes

For pool decks it Makes no sense to wear masks outdoors if you are moving and or have 6 ft at most times. The wind blows things away anyways Getting Covid from a passerby is very unlikely. And if you are the type worrying about the .001% chance then you should stay home anyways.

We are currently on vacation right now as I type this. We are on the Baltic Sea at a beach hotel. Masks are required in all indoor public places including elevators hallways reception and restaurants until you are seated at your table. Once seated at your table you can move your mask to eat the entire time or if you go up to the Buffet . Yes there is a Buffet

Pool area and of course the beach masks are not required as you’re outdoors and not right up to someone else’s face. If you go up to the ice cream stand and there is a line people wear masks even though you are outdoors and you just remove them after you receive your items.

I know a lot of people refuse to vacation if they have to wear a mask at all and to be honest it does not bother me at all. I have two choices one wear a mask and go on vacation or not wear a mask and stay at home. Staying at home is not an option, I want my life back even if I have to make changes.

I think the biggest challenge Disney would haven their ships would be the crew areas. It’s different for someone to say I am willing to wear a mask if that means I can have this great experience and pay money for it. Even with the dining I can see Disney making some changes where there’s more space between tables or changing the ventilation system there.

I can just see there being big issues by the crew mess. Those are very tight places where you have no masks. Fir somebody working on a boat and basically locked in there for months that would be a bigger challenge with masks and I can see people the masks sliding off once they reach the crew only areas.
