Would you get plastic surgery?

If I had the money for it, sure! I am heading towards needing something for my eyelids. I also could use some liposuction and some things made more perky! Unfortunately, I can only dream since we don't have the extra money to pay for these. I have no problems doing a Sharon Osbourne if I could afford it.

Yes, I would definitely do it. If I reach my goal weight with plenty of exercise, and things don't "firm up" on their own (I doubt they will after being overweight all my life) I will be saving for plastic surgery. If I do the considerable work to make myself healthy, I think I'll owe it to myself to do what I can to be happy about the way my body looks.

I would. If you can afford it and really want it than GO FOR IT. Nothing like feeeling better about yourself. I had my teeth whitened and it made such a differance in my confidence:teeth:

Been there, done that with a breast reduction. About 15 years ago in fact......and THE best thing I've ever done! Insurance paid for it which was a big deal back then. 15 years ago a reduction was still mostly considered a "cosmetic/elective" surgery.
Not so anymore. I think it's much easier to get insurance companies to recognize the discomfort and near-disability caused by gigantic mammaries. :p

Enjoy your newfound freedom, cuz that's how it'll feel afterwards! There is NOTHING like your first shower after a reduction. So much less to lift-n-wash. ::yes::

I wouldn't do it but have no problem with those that do.

It's so interesting to me that almost every other post mentions a breast reduction, but no one has mentioned getting implants! Maybe we are progressing!

Anyway, I weigh 110 lbs and the average birth weight of my three kids was 10 lbs each ...needless to say, over 8 years after the last birth, I have lots of stretched skin to deal with...I'd love to have a tummy tuck and to have a normal navel again! Besides money - which I think I could come up with - the issue is time away from work. I don't think it would realy be fair to my family to use up all my vacation time one year to have elective surgery.

BTW, just had LASIK...it's pretty incredible.

I never thought I'd have plastic surgery, but I recently lost a lot of weight and have some loose skin I'd like to get rid of. Extra skin just doesn't respond to exercise! I look OK with clothes on, but when they come off...:scared1:

If that's you in the picture, Fantasia, IMHO you don't need a thing done!

Thanks! Yes, that's me on the pix. Shhhh...my surgery is tomorrow! I am scared. Please send me some pixie dust this way!

I am phobic about having anything done to me...not only surgical and dental...I even hate haircuts and manicures...I was nervous and tense for the whole month from the time I scheduled LASIK ... I was very tense for the procedure...had a tension headache for about a day after...the day of the procedure was pretty weird...BUT THEN IT WAS ALL OVER AND I HAD WHAT I HAD WANTED FOR SO LONG and I felt very happy. I predict that you'll get through it great, then you'll be so pleased.

I always said I would never do anything. But...never say never. January 03 I had a breast reduction/lift. It was the best thing I have ever done. I was not nervous at all. I knew the outcome would be great. The surgery itself was almost 5 hours and I stayed overnight. I had a few shots of Demerol but didn't feel bad. The worst part was that darn bra they make you wear for a week to keep things tight. My scars are barely visible. They took 4 pounds out. My shoulders thank me daily when I see no more grooves in them. How nice it is to buy bras at Victorias Secret. I used to get bathing suits MADE. No more of that. I bought 2 at Sears last year before our WDW trip in March. I have no regrets except for the fact I wish MD would have taken a little more out! BTW, every penny was covered by Blue Cross. I paid $8 for Darvocet rx and that was it. I believe if there is more than 1 pound per side and you have sore shoulders, back, etc. you can qualify. At least that is what BC required. Any questions?? I would be more than happy to answer them for you.

Okay, I gotta ask. I was never large chested until I got pregnant, nursed, and ended up significantly overweight. I ended up about 60 pounds overweight and went from a nice B to a large D. I have lost 40 of the 60 pounds and I am still a D (but at least the bras fit better now!). Of course, the "appendages" are heading south also! So if I opted for a reduction after I'm down to goal weight, would it be a big deal to also get them "put back where they belong" so to speak? Thanks for any info.......P

No.. I've always been kind of a "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" type of gal (and believe me, I'm not "pretty" or "shapely" by any stretch of the imagination - LOL)..

But if you can afford it - and you're comfortable with it - that's all that counts! ;)

In a heartbeat!
I would do tummy tuck and lipo. Breasts put back where they are supposed to be. And I wuold do face stuff too. Get rid of the 'turkey gobbler' under my chin. Oh yeah, sign me up!:D

I am 100% in favor of plastic surgery!

I have discussed a breast reduction with DH several times, people think I'm crazy and say: "Why would you want to do that?" or "Women pay good money to get their boobs bigger!" - Well, they can have mine!!! I'm not a very big person, but at 5'3" they make me look heavier than I really am. Bras & swimsuits (that don't look like my Grandma's) are hard to find, I'm only 33 and it seems like the only swimsuits that are big enough & have the support (up there) that I need, also come with a built-in skirt. So, yes, if I had the $$$, was not scared out of my wits and 100% sure I wasn't going to have anymore kids, I would definitely have it done. Good Luck!!!
