If you could afford it, would you get some type of plastic surgery? I've been saving for a breast reduction and Lipo for quite sometime. I have part of it scheduled for next month. The breast reduction will be covered by my insurance. YEA! But DH and I have to pay for the Lipo and tummy tuck. DH is totally supportive but my family and friends think I'm crazy. I've wanted this done for a while. We're done having kids, so now's the time. What do you guys think?

I think if it makes you happy and you are doing for the right reasons - Go for it. Tell you family and friends if they don't want to have it done they don't have to.

The only time I would question it is if you do it because you think life will be all rosie just becaus e you had it done. Other than that do it.

I would do it in a heartbeat...I am having gastric banding done in 2 weeks and as soon as I loose a bunch of weight I am going to have a tummy tuck.

oh my gosh, let me know how the banding goes?I would get a tummy tuck for sure, and hope God would think bad of me!!

I personally wouldn't have it, but that's because I'm surgery-phobic. No voluntary surgeries for me, thank you! But I have no problem with others who choose to go that route.

I plan on having an overhaul of my chest done in the not too distant future. After losing weight and having a child they need a little pick me up.

As a larger chested woman, the thought of a breast reduction has passed my mind many times. If I had the money, weren't scared to death of surgery and knew I wouldn't have a child, I would probably do it now.... but I am only 27, don't have kids yet and positively scared to death of surgery, it won't be happeneing anytime soon!!! I think if that is what you want, then it shouldn't matter what others think... especially if your DH is so supportive!!

Yes, I would, and I have. I did it because I was tired of the fat under my chin. I am so glad I did it, my DH said I didn't need to, but once I did and all the swelling went down, he was very happy. I did it in 2000, he still tells me how good it looks.

I had a face lift, neck lift, brow lift, upper eye lid reduction, lipo under my chin and had the muscles released in my forehead to smooth out the deep crease wrinkles.

I would love a tummy tuck, but now that I am retired, I can't afford it.

I would like a nose job, breast enhancement and a facelift. I always said I was going to get a nose job but after watching some of the horror/reality stories on TV it has got me scared. You can watch those surgeries on TV!:earseek:

I still might do it. I would have to get a really good surgeon.

I say if you want it and can afford it, go for it! I don't know that I'd have surgery for purely cosmetic reasons, but that's my personal choice, and I think it's exactly that, a personal choice!

I'd like to get Botox treatments for the lines forming on my forehead though.

I have some spider veins in my legs that will likely have to be removed in the not so distant future, as they are starting to become painful at times, so I guess that one doesn't count as cosmetic.

Personally, no. It is up to each individual do decide what is right for them.

I think I probably would if I had the money.

I have a consultation for a Breast Reduction in April - i have 2 friends who have it done in the last 3 years and they say its the best thing they have ever done for themselves.. I am sooo tired of back/neck aches and just in general of lugging around 5-6 pound grapefruits on my chest !!!! which every man happens to notice not to mention not being able to find shirts that fit correctly !

Probably not. The idea sounds good, but I'm another person who is afraid of elective surgery.

Perhaps I'll feel less so as I approach 50. :p

I would probably do lipo on tummy, back, back of arms, and would do a tunmmy tuck. I would probably like a breast lift, but I'm kinda used to the size (larger, but C/D). It does require that I buy shirts that are one or two sizes larger though. (And of course the shoulders don't fit right, and the sleeves might be long....)Right now I could either do my nice vacations and prepare for the future (college of the kids, nice retirement, dd7's wedding, etc.) or prepare for surgery. But if I had a winfall I just might...:wave2:

Absolutely. I say honey, if you can get it, then get it! I've already had braces, contacts, dermatology, personal training ... why not go full blast and look as good as possible while young enough to enjoy it?

Absolutely! Being another one of the larger-breasted group, I am hoping to have breast reduction once DH and I are done having children. It's not just a matter of appearance, but comfort.

Personally, no. I'm another one who is too afraid of surgery to ever have elective surgery. I wish I weren't that way, though. If I weren't so scared, I would celebrate the end of my child-bearing years (which will be way in the future) with a breast reduction.
