Would you forfeit the Dream to get 2 days in CC?

1st time to cruise.. Family of 4.. I am trying to decide if it would be better to forfeit the Dream to get to spend 2 days in CC on the Wonder (4 night Bahamas out of PC vs 5 nights 2 CC 1 KW on the Wonder). Our boys are DS (8) and DS (12). I know they would LOVE the aquaduck but is it worth having to go to Nassau 1 day and CC only 1 day just for the Dream? Any advice greatly appreciated!

I would yes. After we went on the Fantasy last month I really missed the smallness of the Wonder / Magic. Service was better on the smaller ships and fewer people. You will have fewer on the island with you as well which will make for a nicer experience.

There are water slides at CC, which I think would make up a bit for not having the aquaduck.

Hmmmm......The Dream is a great ship but I personally would do the Wonder simply because it's a longer cruise and 2 stops at Castaway Cay. We did 2 stops at CC on the Dream in 2012 and loved it. You can't go wrong with either. :goodvibes

Boy that is a hard question. We just got off the Dream last week and LOVED IT! We didn't use the pools but enjoyed the ship. It is SO nice!
But CC was the highlight of our trip. Two days at CC would be so great! Not to mention if the weather is bad one day at least you would have a second chance of enjoying CC. One word of caution though. Even with applying sunblock twice (and two different kinds) we all still got burned. I don't think we could have handled a second day unless we stayed under an umbrella or the trees. LOL!

I wish the Dream would just go to CC and dock for two days. I understand why they can't but that would be great!!

Cost aside, I would take a 5n over a 4n. I double princesses would be a concern as these are the lines that tend to be the longest for some reason. Pictures with characters will seem more crowded on the smaller ship.

But otherwise, I think it would be nice to go on the Wonder first and then 'move up' to the Dream.

Note that there's a 4n double dip on the dream in October of this year and few 5n DD next spring.

More is always better. 5 days is better than 4. We did a 4 night dream last year then just did 5 night wonder. My boys are 15 and 11. Entire family liked the Wonder a lot more than dream ( and we loved the Dream) FYI- the tween club ( the edge) is much nicer on the Wonder. The aquaduck is a ride after you have done it a few times it is a "been there done that" and not worth the wait on the long lines after you have done it a couple of times. CC will also be a lot less crowded! We booked another wonder cruise my only regret is we could only do a 4 night this time, the 5 night doesn't work with the school schedule. 4 nights also left us wanting more. 5 nights was perfect

CAREFUL - once you add nights, it's VERY HARD to go down...

Our first two cruises were 5n. The third was a 3n but was ok because we had been to the parks for 4n. But it was short... Next one is 7n...

I know it is killing me! It is the only way we can work it out with the kid's schedule. Can't pull my high schooler out of school. I am looking at it as being better than no cruise

This helps a lot. I know they are doing a 4 night on the Dream that has 2 stops in CC that is very tempting eventhough it's a good bit more than the other 4 nights. Such a hard decision! Ha

I'd do 2 days on CC in heartbeat! We didn't get off at Nassau.

Agree. On the first cruise, we simply walked on Nassau for an hour and got our passports stamped.

Our last cruise, we simply stayed on the ship and enjoyed it empty. Actually, I went ashore to check emails for a little... But it was a ship day for us.

Tough choice I personally would choose the Dream love the ship and have no interest in the wonder until it gets refurbished... This is just a personal preference I just find the smaller ships a little burning compared to bigger ones...

I want to add its hard to pick an itinerary just for castaway cay it's incredible don't get me wrong I love it!!! but you can't always dock I would feel bad if you booked it for 2 days and could only go once or not at all... Then the whole time you regret not going on the dream...

So my advice is pick the ship that appeals to you more (or the length 5 vs 4 in this case) :) like I said it love the dream my father on the other hand loves the classic ships! So really you can't make a bad choice :)

Ok... So what if you had to decide between Dream 4 nights (2 to CC 1 to Nassua) or Magic 7 day Eastern? Is Magic 7 days really worth the extra money & missing more school?

I am also deciding between those 2 cruises and it is a difficult choice :)

We have cruised the Wonder on a 7 night but have never been on the larger ships. I have a 7 and 13 year old so I will be following this thread for all new suggestions. I love hearing others perspectives to help me weigh in on my decision. I have noticed that Disney has been doing a ton of GTY rates as the dates get closer so I am right to assume that the Wonder will sell out since it is a double dip and probably will not get to GTY status? There are I believe 3 double dips in a row on the Wonder so I am not sure how much that will weight into it....

We have the Dream 4 night with 2 days in CC booked for Oct 23rd. Still trying to decide if the 7 day Eastern Caribbean on the Magic is worth the extra money & missed school;)
