Would you fix these reservations?

Big family trip - several rooms. When I made the initial reservation, I just put people in rooms. Now (after MUCH planning - another story for another day) we have a plan which is very different from the reservations. Kids are staying in rooms with grandma to give mom and dad some alone time, kids are split into boy cousin / girl cousin rooms rather than by siblings, etc.

Should I bother to call MS and fix the reservations, or just leave the reservations alone any divvy up the keys. Note that there is no benefit from a room charge standpoint... that's going to be a mess no matter what we do.

I'm assuming that you are all in the same resort (i.e. not half in SSR and half in OKW). If not, that's certainly a problem. I could see a couple of other potential issues. First, are folks allowed to charge on the keys and if so are they all going to one bill or are you trying to divide it up by reservation? Secondly (and I have NO idea how the resort keeps track of this) was if something was to happen to the resort (fire, etc.) do they know how many people are in what section of the resort? (so if the rooms are in different sections you may end up in different evac areas?) but if the number of people/room are the same then maybe that's not an issue. Just make sure that there's at least 1 adult per room.
And who knows.. they may want to change rooms after they've spent a couple of nights with their cousins anyway.

I would fix it. You know in advance, so I would call MS and get the right people in the right rooms. I would make sure I had all the information listed so that it can be easily relayed to MS. It may take a bit of time, but better safe than sorry. I would not want any complications during my visit.

I also agree with the above post.....I would fix it, it will make your life soooo much easier when you are there.

Each key is assigned to a person and has their name on it. If you plan on using the room charges, I would call and get it fixed now. That way there won't be any questions on why "Brandon" is using a card with "Sarah" on it.

I was also concerned it would be a mess because we were all in a 2-bedroom. However, it was quite easy for my mom, sister (& her kids), and I (& my family) to divy up the charges for all of us. You just go to the front desk and ask them to print a list of all the charges with the individuals name on the line for each charge. I knew exactly who charged what and we could separate it based on that. My sister even had them print a report of just her charges the day before we checked out. Mom and I decided to wait until we got home to even up. It couldn't have been easier.

It may be easier to send an message to member services through the DVC member website. When we had a grand gathering a couple of years ago, 24 of us total, I put who was in which room together and all Magical Express info into writing and sent it to MS that way. Made it much easier for them with name spellings & all.

:thumbsup2 Great Advice Lori!
If you really want it fixed, this is the route I would go also. Also keep a copy for yourself and take it with you to checkin. That way if it is not fixed, you don't have to write it over, you can just hand the list over and they can check everyone in. Be sure to link all your ressies so they know to try to keep you together.

We only allow charging for Dh and I when travelling with big groups of family and this has never been an issue. We don't do the DDP so its never been a problem.
