would you ever do this to your cat?

One of my best friend's cats Izzy, gets the lion cut on a regular basis. Initially it was because her fur became very matted. But she became more nimble and active after being groomed like that so she gets one every few months and looks really cute.

I have a long-haired furball that hates being combed. And I hate having too deal with her temper tantrums during any grooming. Sometimes her knots are so bad, they have to be cut out. I've seriously considered getting her a "lion cut" ... just for a respite from her hissy fits!

Same, here. Our (no longer living) persian had to have this done every once in a while.

She would pout for the first day or so and stay hidden as though she was embarrassed to be seen--poor thing!!!

I have a persian and he used to get cut like that--it was so cute! I switched groomers a few years ago and the new groomer said it's mean to do a lion cut so therefore wouldn't do it. I went to a different groomer after that who would do it. I think it depends on your cat. My cat has always gotten cut short in the summer because he mats and he's hot! I don't do the lion cut anymore because he would still get matted around his neck. It's funny because when he gets back from the groomer he looks like half the cat he was because he has so much hair.

Ok I have a question, I have a cat that is just a mutt... can she get a cut like that? Or is it only for persians? I would LOVE to get her a cut like that, how funny would that be!?

I love that pic! It makes me laugh I would do this to my cats if they were long haired cats. Since they aren't I don't but I cannot see how this would be cruel, or at least any more cruel than making your ds get a haircut he doesn't want (my parents forced my teenage brothers to get many haircuts that they didn't want! lol)

Someone sent me that pic about a year ago. There was a story that went with it and you had to read to story first then open the pic. When I first saw it a couldn't stop laughing. The look on the cat's face is what makes it so funny.
