Would you eat a Cockroach for Fastpass?

WOuld you et a Cockroach for a Fastpass?

  • Sure, what's little bug juice

  • Maybe, depends on how crowded the park is

  • No way, I'd just stay home and forget Six Flags

I hope Disney isn't getting any ideas.

Six Flags Offers Visitors Priviledges For Eating Live Roaches

September 21, 2006 11:00 a.m. EST

Mary K. Brunskill - All Headline News Staff Writer
Gurnee, IL (AHN) - Six Flags Great America is offering visitors of its Halloween-themed FrightFest a chance to get out of waiting in long lines to get on rides. From October 7 through October 29, customers who eat a live Madagascar hissing cockroach get unlimited line-jumping privileges.

Those who eat the 2- to 3- inch roach still have to pay admission fees, but after the feat is accomplished, cockroach eaters, along with four other friends or family members, get to cut to the front of the lines.

Bill Mays, Lake County Health Department's community health director, tells the AP eating live roaches may put people at a higher risk for gastrointestinal illness and allergies, but park officials insist consuming the roaches is safe.

Those who don't want to eat live roaches may want to eat ones that are cooked. However, winners of the cooked roach-eating contest, held Friday, October 13, don't get to jump any lines.

Six Flags spokesman James Taylor says he's hoping somebody can beat the British man who currently holds the cockroach-eating world recorded - 36 roaches, recorded in the 2001 Guinness Book of World Records.

Taylor says, "I've heard people say, 'Wow,' 'Ew,' a lot of one-worders. A lot have said that they wouldn't eat a cockroach, but they sure would like to see someone else do it."

Even if I didnt have to eat a roach I would choose to forget six flags :rolleyes1

I can't stand to even LOOK at a cockroach, much less EAT one! :sad2:

Ditto for me. I'd rather eat the bark of a tree or grass.

I'd probably rather eat a roach than be forced to go to Six Flags!! :teeth:

that is the silliest thing i ever heard of!

they must have a VP that worked for Fear Factor :rotfl2:

I would run screaming like the girl I am at the sight of one. Never ever would I voluntarily touch any part of my body to a roach, or any other bug for that matter. Much less put one in my mouth.

Can you tell I have a slight bug phobia? :teeth:

I can't stand to eve LOOK at Six Flags, let alone a cockroach. Eating one, uh, well I would't need a front of the line pass, I'd be dead just from thinking about it.

heck no!! but i might do it for annual passes to disney and a night in the castle room :thumbsup2

Wow. I am really glad that they WANT to have roaches in the park. What if they escape and get to a food stand. I would be doing everything possible if I owned a theme park to spray-spray-spray those bugs away. This is truly revolting and it is pathetic that people would be willing to eat a roach just to skip waiting for a ride. Ugh!

EEWWWWW!! I'm glad Disney is our vacation every year and not Six Flags. I knew there was a reason I didn't like Six Flags!!!

No but I'd eat a Fast Pass to skip ahead of the line at Disney!! I'm not a fan of Six Flags. Even the old guy on their commercial freaks me out.

I think it's pathetic that Six Flags needs to resort to this type of stunt to get free publicity for the purpose of boosting park attendance. On the other hand, we're all posting about it! :teeth:

I wouldn't go to Six Flags if it were FREE! Those parks are dumps!
