Would you drive to WDW from Vero for MNSSHP?

I just realized that MNSSHP will be offered for 2 of the nights we will be in a Beach Cottage at VB -

I have never been to MSSHP - would it be worth it to drive up for the evening to go?

Our youngest traveler is 6, but is quite the trooper and could probably go till midnight without a problem - also I have been to the Christmas party and it was always CRAZY croweded, does the Halloween party tend to sell out also? I am looking at either 10/8 or 10/11

TIA

That is a hard call. I wouldn't do it myself. I got caught on the interstate once from Vero to WDW for TWO hours!!! I don't know what happened but it was awful.

We did the drive from VB to WDW for an Illuminations cruise in June. The ride back wasn't too bad, but we were leaving WDW area around 10:30. I do not think that a Monday or Thursday party early in the month will be too crowded. We've had good times at the MNSSHP and have never stayed to the end...that's just us. I would go, get there on the early side, stay to see Hallowishes and the parade for sure. I enjoy MNSSHP, and I would go for it!

I don't know, It might be awfully hard to leave that BC for the evening!

Agreed (of course)... we have never had the bliss of staying in a BC. Sooo... I would be hard pressed to leave that wonderful Kingdom of exclusive beachfront heaven. Our kids are grown.. so my perspective is biased.

All things considered... you can make the trip in 90 minutes if you go at some time other than rush hour. I say, don't tell your kids about the possibility and make the decision after you get there.

Well, on the one hand, there will be Halloween parties next year and the year after that..... So if you miss this year, all is not lost! On the other hand the halloween party is really fun. We usually go a couple of times each year (we live here). On the other hand, it can be rainy that time of year and it would be a shame to drive all that way to get drenched.
Wasn't much help, was I???

We did it last October, except we didn't have the BC:sad2: Our kids were 13,10 and 6 at the time and it was a surprise for them. We had the latest lunch seating at Kona Cafe and then went over to the MK around 4:30 and entered the park. We really enjoyed it. We planned on staying until it was over, but we were ready to leave after we saw the parade & Hallowishes. It was a great time and I'm glad we did it. Would we do it again? I'm not sure. Everything at the park was great, but we were awfully tired driving back to VB that late. DH and I both get really sleepy driving at night, and that's a pretty scary thing. Also, the next day we slept in really late and were almost too tired to enjoy the day at the beach. Our trip to VB was only for 5 nights and we sort of felt like we missed out on two days at the beach (the day we left for WDW and the day we were too tired to enjoy it). I think if our stay was longer, we'd do it again, but for the shorter stays where relaxing and beach time are priority - we'd probably skip it.

That would be the kicker for me... If I was only at VB for five days, I probabily wouldn't make the trek to WDW... On the other hand, if I were there longer, I may..

We've done the drive to WDW once from VB... We got up REALLY early in the morning to get there on time, and then stayed until after the fireworks at MK.. It was a LONG day, and we really missed out on two beach days because it took us a day or so to recover...

We generally go to VB to relax and just chill... Going commando at WDW tends to defeat the purpose of that, but it is just soooo hard to go to FL and not visit WDW at least one time.. :goodvibes
