I've never been during the holidays and we are considering driving down the 26th and doing 3/4 days. Is it mad crazy? Is it like summer?

I'm "that mom" who pulls her kids out of school for a week of Disney fun so we don't have to deal with crowds.

I was going to wait til Feb 2013 but didn't know if it was really THAT crowded the few days after Christmas?

Any help would be appreciated!

I think between Christmas and New Years it is THE MOST crowded time of the year. I'd stick to pulling the kids out of school and go at a less crazy time :thumbsup2

That's what I wanted to know!! Thanks a bunch! I have been waiting for over a year for things to settle over there and really be able to enjoy all the "new."
And I honestly didn't know what crowds were like just after Christmas!

Next time pull your kids out the week after Thanksgiving. It's perfect! You get holidays and low crowds. I think it's the best time to go. My daughter is in 7th grade, so this is the last year we'll pull her. :(

Thanks, I will remember that! My daughter is in 6th grade this year, she's my oldest, and I still don't see the big deal...do the teachers not work with you? Can't we request school work? I don't know...maybe I'm just crazy!!

Oh, wow! You are in Sac? We are in Folsom!

Last year we were going to take our daughter out, but a couple of her teachers freaked out. We decided this year we would do it for the last time no matter what. I think the volume of work just gets overwhelming. Plus, there is a lot of material covered in class. We always take the kids out for 5 days, so they can have the independent study contract, which means they get all the classwork and homework sent home. It's just that the higher level of school, the more work, and more complicated concepts.

Yea, week after Thanksgiving will have the low crowds. We are going the week before Christmas, did that once in 2002, and crowds weren't bad, hoping it won't be this year either.

Get out!!! We are in Folsom!! Do I know you? We are a Gold Ridge family!

I agree it was mad crazy when we went last year but if you are prepared you can still have a lot of fun. I love the park during Christmas.

Dec 26th was the worst day I have every been to Disneyland in my whole life going...LOL It was seriously almost scary....wall to wall people, you could barely move. We always avoided holiday times because I knew it was crowded but we had out of state visitors that wanted to go and I never expected how bad it really was.

I think it's very weather dependent. The locals won't come if it's pouring, and a beautiful day will bring them in. I have been that week and it can be very crazy. If I traveled and spent thousands I would be annoyed and felt like it was wasted.
