Would you do this

Okay, here's my question. We went to Disney in October dh, me, dd6, dd2, ds10. We satyed at the POP. Loved it. We brought a blow up bed and it worked out great. We were not in our room very much like everyone always says we just slept and showered there. We are wanting to go again this October, but since my daughter will be over 3 we have to move to a bigger room. The moderates don't really appeal to me (to adult for us, love the kid theme) Would love to do a deluxe but double the money. So would it be okay for me to book a vacation package w/ dining for dh, me, and 2dd at the POP and then just buy ds10 adult ticket and purchase food seperate. If he is on the dining plan I can't imagine him eating an adult meal. then we could just use the blow up bed agian. What do you guys think. Is this so wrong. We just really like to go all out when were there and hate to spend so much on sleeping. We really want to do The BBB and the tea party, Universal, and a camp so dh and I can have a quiet dinner. That all cost more and it really could save us if we could stay at the POP.

All members of party must be registered in the room.
Occupancy rules are not a suggestion.
If you have a package, all members of the reservation must be on the exact same package.

Since you will be a party of 5 you will need to look into your options for that....POR, deluxes, swan dolphin, Cabins, offsite, 2 rooms, suites.

However, you could get 2 rooms at a value, and only get the dining plan with one of the rooms. Thus, you could assign people to rooms based on your eating plans. I.e. put yourself and your 3 kids in 1 room with the dining plan and your husband in the other room without the dining plan. Then you'd have the dining credits you were hoping for and you'd save money over staying at a moderate/deluxe and you'd have 2 bathrooms.

I really wish there were more options for us with more than 2 kids at disney! Yes there are "options" but MAN they are ex*****ve options with 3 kids!!!!

why can you say expen sive as one word on here with out getting the ****?

I would bet you reversed two of the letters when you typed it making the **** out part spell a censored word. Lets see
expensive

I would put the four of us on the room and just buy my son his ticket from the Disney store. I have thought about two rooms, but by the time I do preferred room (close to everything) and get the rooms, we could stay at a deluxe with monorail access. I just wanted too spend more money on the fun stuff then the sleeping and showering. We have friends going in June and they have five family members and they are staying at the POP. They bought their tickets at the Disney store. They are not doing the dining plan, so that's what got me thinking about this

So you would be
(1)planning on having an unregistered guest in your room. Think about safety here - if your room catches on fire they say you have 4 guests in this room and one of you gets left behind because they pull out 4 and move on to the next room. Yes that's extreme but that kind of thing is an importat reason to have everyone registered.
(2)You would also be planning on exceeding the room occupancy. Disney says this breaks fire codes. So okay maybe it really isn't any different than 1 year ago when the youngest was 2 but people have studied this and it isn't one disney is willing to bend on. They have your safety as well as their pocekts in mind here. Sneaking in an extra guest to keep your room costs down isn't any different than saying well the youngest just turned 3 so we will just list her as two so that we fit. Or listing the oldest as 9 so you can pay the kid price for him. They are rules set out that you would be intending to break.
(3)And last and definitely not least - to purchase a package, which is necessary to get the dining plan, you must have everyone on the plan with the same tickets. The elements can't be purchased on a person by person basis.

You asked if it is so wrong and the answer is yes, for all the reasons I stated. It is wrong even for your friends who are purchasing their tickets elsewhere and not doing the dining plan. Occupancy rules are rules not suggestions. If you have more than that maybe nothing will happen. But maybe your maid sees evidence of 5 and reports you and you get kicked out or whatever. It doesn't really matter what will or wont happen.

When does DD turn 3? If you check in, even the day before her third birthday, she'd be considered age 2 for the entire trip... Maybe you could book the trip around her birthday?

I had this really long thing typed out ... but I'm going to change it.

Honesty is the best policy.

If your children were asking you if it was ok to lie to save a little bit of trouble, what would you say to them?

I'm going to assume you tell your children to be honest and forthcoming about everything to you, as parents you should do the same to them.

Is it a huge deal if you snuck one of your kids into the hotel room ... no. Infact, I've stayed the night at my parents RV site when I got too sick to drive home. No, Disney didn't implode. It wasn't the right thing to do ... but it was the only option. Bending the rules for yourself causes others to have rules slapped in their faces.

My niece was asking me why we weren't taking her to Disneyworld this time. I explained to her that when we took her and her sister to DL, we had gotten a cheap suite, and train rides instead of in an airplane, so we could afford it. I told her we couldn't do those things at DW, and we would have to get a whole nother room for her and her sister. She understood what I was saying, and added that her Dad, my ExBIL made her and her sister hide when they were in a motel with him and his new family. She wasn't happy about it. Please think about what you are showing your kids. This niece had just turned 7, and she already knew that her dad was a liar and a cheat.

Sorry, I know that was too harsh. My Ex-BIL has done several things that get my goat up. This just happens to be the most recent.

About the moderates, all of my children (ages 25 to 6) loved POR. Because POFQ is the sister resort, we were able to take the lovely boat ride over to POFQ and let the children swim there one afternoon. In a way you get two great themed pools with slides for the price of one. Plus there are beignets at POFQ.

At POR Alligator Bayou section, you can get a room that sleeps five. It comes with two full beds plus a pull-out trundle. Building 14 is really nice as it is close to the bus stops, food court/lobby, restaurant, and marina and a short walk over a bridge to the main pool. The hot tub is awesome for the adults and is typically full of fun and friendly guests.

It's none of my business whether or not you sneak someone into the room, but you need to ask yourself what could the consequences be if you did. Someone touched on the fire issue, so I won't. However, what would you do if Disney found out and acted on it? You might be required to get another room, but since you didn't plan that room wouldn't necessarily be a connecting room. It could be on the other side of the resort. What if there were no rooms available? You might be required to get rooms somewhere else. Basically you'd have expenses that you didn't plan on and your trip just wouldn't be the same.

Plus during your trip you'll always be on the look-out to make sure you don't get caught. Even if it doesn't seem stressful it will still suck some of the magic out of the vacation.

For peace of mind and a stressfree trip, I'd suggest getting two value rooms and request that they connect or opt for a moderate. I didn't think any of the moderates would appeal to me, but I was certainly wrong.

Thanks for not being harsh. I have not booked yet, I was just throwing it out there. I never thought of trying to have to hide my child. I wasn't thinking in those terms. We are probably going to do the Poly and just cut out some extras. But thanks to all that gave me other options. I do really enjoy the "Disney" theme at the values. It just makes me think Disney.

You can't take advantage of EMH if all the people in your room are not registered - so the 10 yr old you leave off your list wouldn't have a room key, and wouldn't be able to do EMH.

Why don't you just book a suite at All Star Music? You will have plenty or room and still have money to spend on other things. If you really want to stay at Pop then do 2 rooms. It is a fire safety issue to all stay in one room not to mention the rooms are hardly big enough for 2 adults and 2 children. Two rooms at POP is still much less expensive than Poly.

I just checked the numbers and two rooms at pop is over 163/night cheaper when looking at rack rate.
ASMu suites are about 150 - 170 cheaper.

Edited to add that I was pricing preferred rooms, suites however dont have preferred category.

Keep in mind that if someone is not a registered guest they will NOT get the ME to or from the airport.

I wouldn't do it.
I dont really think it could be done:confused3 I dont see how disney wouldn't find out. It seems like there are several choices, 2rms at POP,POR AB, ASMU fam suites, or even offsite there are some really nice pool homes and Townhouses around 5 min. away and you could always get a cheap car rental.(but then you wouldn't have the perks of staying onsite) How about going during free dining?;) (Thats saving me around 1000$:woohoo: ) Thats about how much i spent on food on the last trip.

Is this so wrong.

Yes, it is "so wrong". Disney has rules. Guests are expected to abide by the terms of purchase. When you book a room that has an occupancy of 4, you are expected not to put more than 4 people over age 2 in the room.

I see from your other post you decided to stay at the Polynesian. I really don't think you will regret it. It's a beautiful resort and being able to see the Castle across the lagoon makes it very Disney for me.
