Hello Everyone, Has anyone ever done Disney alone? I am going down for work in April to the Disney Customer Service training for my work. I had planned to go with my husband 3 days prior to do the parks and such but my husband left me this past November. I have noone that can go with me. Would you go by yourself and do the parks alone or would you cancel that portion of the trip? I LOVE Disney World and I am hoping this will make everything I have been going through a littlle happier for me. What do you think? :wave2:

I would ABSOLUTELY go!!! If for no other reason than the fact that you CAN!!! After I left my husband I didn't think I would want to do a lot of things we did together: go to the movies by myself, eat in a restaurant by myself, etc. But I did it and now it is just natural for me. Sure, if there are others around and I have the option to be with others, I will do it. But, I have no problem doing things by myself. I find it empowering!!! Go and have a GREAT time!!!

Absolutely. I wouldn't mind going alone - be on your own itinerary, sleep in if you want, ride the rides you like, etc...If you love WDW, I wouldn't let your ex ruin that for you.

Have fun...relax...enjoy yourself...and take care!

ABSOLUTELY! I think it would be a blast. I would love to slowly linger in the World Showcase, shop at my own pace, people watch, and relax by the pool! I say go for it!

I would definitely like to go alone for a few days. You can do what you want without worrying about what anyone else wants to do, eat where you want, get up early if you want, sleep late if you want. I would like to spend a leisurely day just walking around MK, taking everything in instead of rushing from attraction to attraction.

Definately do Disney alone...It would be a blast to make your own hours....

Since I am the oldest of 8 kids, married young, been married forever, have kids, grandkids and many dependent friends I would love to go alone. I have never been alone in my entire life. I might bore myself though, nah, would NOT happen. There is much I do not know about meself yet. Very secretive I am (NOT). LOL

I would LOVE it. Not because I would want to be away from my family, because I would miss them terribly, but I would love to just take my time and enoy everything at my own pace. I would love to be able to take pictures for a family instead of missing the person in their group taking the picture, just fun stuff like that! :flower:

You should definitely go since you love Disney. You should not deprive yourself. I usually go with my DH on all our vacations but Disney is the one place I would not hesitate to do alone.

:goodvibes

Yep, sure would - and have! My very first trip, DH was in a conference, so I did the parks alone during the day. It was heavenly, being able to do whatever I wanted.

I would definately go alone...and have!! When I was in college, I needed a break and my parents were at their townhouse in orlando...so I flew down for a long weekend (spur of the moment trip) Anyways, I went to WDW alone and it was wonderful...got to do what I wanted, when I wanted and didn't have to worry about anyone else!! My grandparents headed over and visited for a day or 2 and my Nana said..."why didn't you wait to go to WDW with us, we would have gone with you." My response...I can go again...and we did. :goodvibes

:cool1: :cool1: I would LOVE to go alone! :cool1: I could do it at my own pace and not have to slow down for others. I threaten my husband that if he rolls his at me when I talk about WDW that I will just go all by myself and leave his hind end at home ! LOL :teeth:

Going alone is so much fun. You do what you want, when you want. Can't be beat. As someone else said, check out the adult/singles board.

Have fun.

:wave2:

Oh heck yeah! No responsibilities to anyone but YOU!

Have been thinking about this for a while....we are a 3adult family...Mom (64), me (42) and Brother (37)....would still love to go by myself....do exactly what I want when I want to.

Go for it!

I am considering it myself!! DH is working tons and away with to many business trips. Kids are way to busy and I am an accountant and its March, need I say more??

DH had a conference and I tagged along and did the parks by myself during they day and one evening and I enjoyed it much more than I would have imagined. I took things at my pace and found myself meeting and talking with so many great people that I may not have otherwise spoken with.

I would probably only to 2-3 days but I would definately consider it and may take a short trip by myself in May if I can work it out.

Hit the adults and solo travelers board a bit further down from this one. You can also find solo trip reports on the trip reports board, I found those very informative. These two boards, and this thread, should give you some idea if a solo trip is right for you.

(pssst.....I say Go For It !)

I land in MCO on business a lot lately. I bought an AP, and I head to WDW as soon as I can! It does, at times, seem a little lonely, then I look around and take in the view. It is so beautiful! I take a deep breath, and allow myself to feel empowered, strong and independant. I love it! You will too! :cheer2:

Without having looked at the selection of responses, if I had the opportunity to go, but nobody to come with me, I would most DEFINITELY go by myself.

While I love sharing it with somebody, it would be BEEEEEEYOOOTIFUL to not have to answer to anybody. If I wanted to ride Splash Mountain until I threw up? So be it!!!! I want to sleep at the resort all day? Who's gonna stop me?!?!?!

I say go for it!

I want to go alone for my birthday! Go have fun! Enjoy your self!!

EyeoreChell--
Absolutely,
I've done Disney alone so Many times, and even moved to Florida so I could go more often.
Went 35 times my first year here and I'd say 30 of those times were alone.
You'll have a great time.
