We usually fly, so we try to arrive as early as possible on Saturday and leave as late as possible the following Saturday. Then we have Sunday to acclimate to the "real world" before we have to go to work Monday morning.

Ditto. I arrive the Saturday after T-giving around 10:00 am and leave the following Saturday around 3:30 pm. I changed about four years ago and never regretted it.
We are going on our second trip to WDW in September. Last time, and this next one, we arrived on Sunday and left on Saturday. We drive down so we leave here Saturday, and then we get home Sunday. I like arriving on Sunday. We get settled into the room and go to MK. We eat dinner at the park. Last time and (according to a calendar I found online) this time too there is extra magic hours on Sunday until midnight. So that makes it worthwhile for us even though it isn't a full day. I think we were there about 7 hours last time.
Either way, you'll have a great time!!!
We always do a Sat - Sat if we can! Makes it great to get there on Saturday, enjoy the resort (Yay CBR!), and then go to dinner at DTD or another Disney Resort. Then the next Saturday arrive home later, so we have the 'down' time on Sunday. Always a nice vacation!

We usually do the Fri - Sat for that same reason .... To have Sunday to acclimate to the "real world" before we have to go to work Monday morning.
This year we're actually doing a Tues - to the following Friday ... which gives us the whole weekend to acclimate to the "real world"
Like I posted in your other thread. Wait to see when FD ends, during that time. U may want to move it up to a thursday or so, depending what day it ends. If you are able to do this... This is how I got FD last 2 years during Jersey weeks.
I usually stay middle of the week to middle of the week because the air fare is cheaper.
So to answer your question I would probably do whatever day I could get a cheaper flight. If prices are the same for both days I think I would do a Sat-Sat.

That's a great idea if we can swing it. I already have a courtesy hold for a MYW package (thru AAA) for sat-sat, which I think I will confirm (pay dep). I can always hope to chg my date to take advantage of FD later, correct? I am afraid to wait to book, because last week a standard rm @ POR was avail., then a few days later only garden views were avail for our time. Thanks for your multiple responses as I SLOWLY learn to navigate around this site!
Thanks everyone - it looks like Sat-Sat is a winner! We are driving so airfare is not an issue. Because of drive time, we'll arrive home Sun. late afternoon probably, then back to the real world Monday. If we went Sun-Sun. we would arrive home late Monday and back to school/work next day too.
We plan to arrive Friday eve around 8pm and stay cheap right outside the world, then check in fresh first thing Sat. morning. Happy Disney Dreaming!
I would do Sat. to Sat. We've done Sun. to Sun. before and "re-entry" to work and school is harder. Also I find that we sit around on the Saturday before departure just wishing we could GO! (although it can be nice to have that day for last minute errands if needed)
If we fly, we prefer to get back home on a Saturday so that we can use Sunday to get back into our routine and rest before work on Monday; but if we drive, we would probably not get back home until Sunday because we would check out on Saturday and not get back home until the next day because we would stay somewhere overnight due to the drive being 17 hours long.
