Would you choose 2bd Villa or 2 rooms at the GF?

Having some DVC members check availability for us on Tuesday. Likely will not be any left, but if there are, which would you choose? Checking on 2bd at WLV, BCV, and BWV.

I think you would really enjoy a 2 bedroom DVC unit. The extras you would have would be a separate master bedroom with a king bed, a jacuzzi tub and a separate shower, a washer/dryer in the unit, a full kitchen, a living room with a sofa bed and a separate 2nd bedroom with 2 beds(request a dedicated 2 bedroom or you get 1 bed and a pull out sofa) and a 2nd bathroom. The OKW 2 bedroom units are around 1300 sq ft. The others are a bit smaller. The only thing you might not like is that unless you pay extra you will not have daily maid service. On the 4th day of your stay they do a trash and towel service and they do complete service every 7 days of your stay. I think it costs about $40 a day for maid service in a 2 bedroom.

Are you sure we weren't separated at birth? I see you are still going back and forth. We leave in 31 days and last night I was asking DH, do you think we should switch a coupld of days from GF to AKL or YC. He thinks I'm nuts. We have 11 nights at GF and I'm still going back and forth on whether to switch 2 or three nights to one of them. It will be better for me if there's no availability because I've got to stop driving myself crazy!

I would go with WLV, you'll be close to MK and WL is good for kids (has nice a snack bar).

You'll have a washer/dryer in the room, so you can throw the towels in there in the morning before you leave and then into the dryer later.

it depends on what you r family likes
you get alot more room and extras with the dvc
more room, laundry, privacy

all the resorts you listed are great i would stay at any of them
probably more economic to do dvc
i think it really depends on what your family is looking for

Like you I have gone back and forth on where to stay. First, I was booked for a 2bdr at Beach Club. Then I changed it to 2 rooms at the GF. I did so because we will have more beds to sleep in at the GF and you can not beat the location. I didn't think I would use the kitchen. For us the price came out within a few dollars until I started upgrading our rooms. In a previous post you mentioned you wanted to keep your trip budget at 5000.00 and I couldn't figure out how you could do that with two gv rooms at the Floridian. If you are thinking of buying points from someone than I think you could save money. If you are booking through CRO I don't think you will find the price much different between your choices. I finally had to come to the realization that I needed to stop thinking about these things. :confused3 Like you and most other mothers I want this trip to be really special for my family. :grouphug: The best way for me to do that is make my decisons and stick with them and not always second guess myself. The trip will be perfect as long as you don't drive yourself crazy before you get there! Good luck.

I don't think you can really go wrong with either one. We have done both and we personally prefer the villas. We love having the family room and we used the kitchen more than we thought we would. I also love the master bedroom/bathroom in the villas. It has a very luxurious feel even compared to the rooms at the GF. The other side of me argues that the monorail is great especially with the age of your children.

That is EXACTLY my dilemma. I think we'll just check availability, and if it's not the WLV (closeness to MK is a priority) we'll do the GF this time. This is a really special trip for us, so a splurge is in order! We always rent 2bd condos/villas when we travel, so the thought of not having a kitchen (especially a big refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher) is a little daunting. I'm sure either choice will be wonderful!
