Would you change guides because of this?

I'm going to be calling about an add-on tomorrow...that's the whole reason I even thought about the whole subject, but I don't think I stated it clearly enough in my original post. If we weren't doing an add-on it would make no difference to me (or my dh, for that matter).

Thanks again for the input!

Chances are that you original guide is still assigned to you. Our original guide (who we've never met) was unable to make our meeting at the time we signed the papers. Another member of his team met with us and got all the papers in order. I spoke with the original guide for a total of about 15 minutes compared to the three hours I spent with his co-worker but the original guides name is what's listed in the DVC system as our guide.

We do not hear from our guide unless there is some important issue he wishes us to know about. He does, however, return our phone calls promtly, and sends a thank you letter for any referals we give him. He always follows up on the referals. We dodn't expect Byron to be our friend for life, but it is nice knowing that he will follow up on any questions we ask him.
