If you have already book your trip and you get a quote from DU or other TA price that is lower then the price you booked with WDW would you cancel and re-book with DU or other TA???:confused3

I wouldn't cancel the reservation. I would coordinate transferring your reservation to the travel agent and then having them apply the discount to your booking. The only thing that may occur is if there is a special discount code or something that expires during the transfer. It can generally take 2-4 days to transfer the booking.

Good Luck!:cheer2:

I would make sure you are comparing apples to apples. DU books directly with Disney and your price should actually be the same as their price. If they are applying a discount, you can call Disney and see if you can get that discount applied to your reservation that you made. You can find the discount codes under the discount section of this board or try mousesavers.

When I ask about the price that I had seen compared to the price that they were asking I was told by them (Disney Booking) that they could not do this and I would have to go through the TA for the discount.

I would call back and ask a different CM. If you originally booked through Disney, there is no reason you would have to go through a TA to get a discount. Disney is the one who offers the discounts. Not the TAs...unless of course DU is offering some sort of incentive.

I have done it.I saved $600 on a 1 br villa at BCV going thru AAA instead.I didn't think twice.:goodvibes

Ditto last poster.....I also did it back in November for our upcoming trip in April. Booked with WDW, then discovered that AAA could save us $600, so after checking everything out very closely, I booked with AAA, then cancelled with WDW 2-3 days later, once I received all of the written confirmations from AAA.

Disney offers the discs as someone said. You didn't need to book through AAA to get the AAA discount, you just needed to tell Disney you were an AAA member and wanted it.

As for DU, its probably the code thats out right now? I had a disney reservation and just called and added that to it and got a huge discount on AKL. You have to know the code though, you cant just say I want a discount please, like most companies disney requires that you know it, and give them the code. Its on their website right now, but I think its cmb.

DU is probably applying this because they know all about disney and are eager to get you the best deal without you having to search everywhere, seems like a travel agency that really works for your dollars. You could reward them just for that and transfer the reservation and get it cheaper through them, or you could try and figure out which disc they applied and get it from disney yourself. No harm in doing it through the TA since you already contacted them and did that part of it, going directly with disney wont save more.
