I was just thinking that now that there is no good yearly DVC book available, would you be interested in a coffee table type book about your home resort (or your favorite resort)?

Like a book that would have a bit of the history of the resort, and then a bunch of photos of all aspects of the resort. Photos of the grounds, pool, lobby, rooms, etc.

I would love that. A "Confessions of a DVC addict" tome written from the standpoint of a tourguide would be great.

I'm the photograph of the family, and each time we've stayed at a differrent resort I've taken pictures of the amenities, the lansdscaping, the special spots etc. to encorporate in the album I do for each vacation. I would have loved to see pictures of OKW as the new and only resort of the DVC empire back in 1991!

Count me in! That would be awesome! I think there is a whole untapped market for selling DVC items of this nature and other kinds too. Probably not too profitable for Disney or we would have already seen these items, but boy it would be fun! :)

Sounds like a great idea and then a good Christmas gift idea people can get a DVC owner....

not really we kind of get that type of book allready with points etc. id rather have some nice quality clothing

Not sure about a separate one about each resort, but one that had several pages about each resort: the overall map of what's located where, some history, number and sizes of rooms, amenities, pool photos, transportation and walking system, statistics, etc. Maybe a couple pockets in the back to keep a few point charts from different years. No photos close-up of pretty people having fun, altho don't mind people in photos that actually show resort features (slides, gift shops, eating areas/bars, etc.).

Could maybe be 3-4 resorts per book, with logical grouping (but I like them all, so one book sounds good to me).

No.

My mother in law is big on coffee table books as Christmas gifts. Not something I need more of.

BTW, this is something that I'm not going to do (I'm a terrible photographer), I just thought it would be nice to have a good photo book of resorts that you've stayed at. And one book per resort simply so it could be sold as a keepsake and to keep the cost down.

Also, I thought this years annual DVC points chart book was weak.

Yes! The book we got this year is "just the facts, mamm!! it very unimpressive compared to the books we got in the early 2000's when we opened bcv's and then our surprisingly loved ssr's Build it and they will come, me included!

I wouild love a book about my DVC resort. Complete with how it planned, maybe some building pics and history of the project. Lots and lots of pictures! :thumbsup2

It is a very cool idea - and actually something that I may try to do with our home resorts!

I agree about the most recent books being pretty weak.

We still have out book from the year we first bought - it was the hardback dream book from when they first announced Animal Kingdom Villas.

I am a photographer and have my own business, I have designed and printed several photo books - and they are really easy to make.

We own at Animal Kingdom Villas, Bay Lake Tower, Saratoga Springs, and soon we will own at Hilton Head Island (We just passed ROFR TODAY!!! :woohoo:)

Please PM me if you own at any of these resorts and would be interested in buying a book if I make one and go to have it printed I can have additional ones printed for other DVC owners. This wouldn't been any time in the next few months - it would be in the next year or so if not more to get through all 4 of our home resorts. I would more than likely do them one at a time. I might also consider other resorts as well if a good number of people are interested!

Until then... popcorn::
