Okay, DW and I are sending the following folks to WDW in October:

My mom, my M-I-L, my DD, and my godson.
Staying in a 1BR at VWL on my points.
Going specifically for MNSSHP.

2 things here, A) I've never stayed at VWL (but am dying to) and B) never did MNSSHP!

Should I be exclusively happy for this little group going on my points, or feel sorry for myself b/c I won't be there?

Just to clarify...I am both, but 300,000,000 times more happy for them than feeling sorry for myself.:goodvibes

I'd be both, but probably more sad than happy. We definitely share our points with family but they come with us and we book a bigger villa. No one has ever used our points without us yet. Since there are a couple of things that you haven't experienced yet (VWL, MNSSHP)-that's what would tend to make me wish I were going (:sad1: )

happy - you don't have to do what they want to do....

send all my relatives and most of my friends WITHOUT me.:thumbsup2

definitely sounds like you need a trip though.

Don't have enough points to share, but I would make ressies for myself for some other point in time and look forward to that, while feeling happy for my guests. Win win... happy, happy, happy. :)

Mostly happy- but just sad enough to start planning an Oct '09 MNSSHP trip at VWL for myself;)

You are nice to do that- Just think how happy you will be when they come back and tell you about the trip and show you the photos... You will be their HERO!!!

What I want to know is how did they con you into going without you? It was your DD, right. She flashed the big puppydog eyes and begged to go with her grandmas. Sneaky little devil. ;)

I'd be both. None of my nieces and nephews have two grandmothers anymore (most don't even have one). But if my mom could be here to take her granddaughters off to MK for a Halloween party, I'd happily foot the bill (even for the tickets and dinner at Cindy's before).

It's a good thing you're doing. Be proud.

Definitely, I would be HAPPY... this is providing wonderful memories for both mothers as well as children. Be glad that you have a mother who is able to make the trip. I sure wish I had owned DVC while my father was physically able to make the trip, with or without me.
Since losing him a couple of years ago, I have been lucky enough to take my mother once and then again with my other two sisters....all on my points and would do so gladly again. I am trying to get her to go back in December with me again...

Hopefully, you will other opportunities to make the trip yourself, but I get great pleasure from knowing others are having a great time.

Be sure to tell them that they MUST take lots of pictures!

It's a mixed bag of emotions, I know, but mostly happy.

Right now, Mothers Day 2008, my extended family, all of them except DH and myself are in Cape May for the weekend, celebrating Mother's Day with my DMom, the DGGM of the 3 youngest members of the family!!! They haven't forgotten us, and this does make it feel alright!:goodvibes

So, I say, let them go and have a great time, and I imagine like our family, yours will keep you with them in their hearts.:lovestruc
