Would you add on Volcano Bay?

It's about $140 more total to add on Volcano Bay to our 2 day, park to park tickets, with 2 days free. We will arrive from our Disney hotel on a Thursday, then have all day Friday and Saturday, go home Sunday early afternoon. Nov 10 - 13th. Will have EP.

First timers - 2 families traveling together - kids are 9,9, 11,11

Not totally sure how the kids will do with the VR rides/screens/simulators due to motion sickness. They will all love roller coasters and thrill rides, and Harry Potter ares. Possibly water park might be good to have as an option? Just not sure how to fit it all in over the course of 2 1/2 days! I am worried if we add on Volcano Bay, we'll feel the pressure to go. $140 seems nominal all things considered.

So you have 4 days at the park and you’re only going to be at the parks for two?

Personally I would not add on VB. In my opinion… You need at least one full day for each park if you want to relax and enjoy them. Especially since you’re incorporating a weekend into it.

Will you be going to parks for 2 1/2 days? If so, I would use the half day park hopping favorite rides. Which day is the half day? Thursday? Or Sunday?

Thank you. The half day is our arrival day on Thursday. And honestly, the original plan was to just relax at the hotel/explore City Walk and rest up for our first park day. The buy 2, get 2 free is enhancing all our options and tempting us to fit even more in!

You can upgrade those tix at any time while you are there if you decide you want to add VB. I did that last year with our Buy2/Get2 tix. Just stop by the ticket desk in the hotel lobby if you are staying onsite. If you are staying off site, go to the guest services inside the park because it is usually a much shorter wait than the one outside the gate.

Nope. I’d do 2 1/2 days in the parks. We do volcano bay if we are there 4+ days only. Your kids will want lots of re-rides as they find favorites and the shows are great!

While Volcano Bay is an awesome water park you need a day to really enjoy it. I would only recommend adding it if you are doing 3 or 4 days at the regular parks and then adding a extra day at the water park.

You might want to explore getting an annual pass instead of the 2+2. Sometimes the price difference is very minimal and then you get all the benefits of the AP for discounts and such. A lot of times it will make sense, or maybe just for one of the tickets.

Annual pass is now 425 starting out. 4 day stay makes it a no brainer. But 2 makes it sketchy. Used to be even with a 2 you could save money cause of the Hotel discount, but the annual pass hotel rates get snatched up super fast.

Going back to original question. Having gone to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, Volcano Bay is better I would say than both of those. Much better than Blizzard, and better than Typhoon but not by a massive amount. Typhoon has a bigger/better wave pool, but Volcanos is still very good. The ride quality of Volcano Bay is higher, only complaint is Typhoon Lagoon has more native shade.
