We are going for to WDW for 10 nights in Oct and are considering the Poly. My mother in law may stay with us the 4 or 5 nights. Our 1st night we will be arriving around 9:00pm (a Wednesday) My mil may stay until Sunday evening or leave 1st thing Monday am. Would you suggest staying 5 in a room to save money or should we get two rooms? It will be me, dh, dd (7) ds(9)
I am leaning towards two rooms but hubby doesn't want mom to have to pay so much for her room if she gets her own. we can not afford to pay for her room too. We have aps so we are hoping for rates to come out but are not counting on them. Will it be too cramped to stay 5 in a room? I know 5 are allowed but I have never stayed here so I would just like opinions. We are not comandos so we are not in the parks "all day"
Help!!
Thanks,
Lisa :earsboy:

while your mother in law is staying there, your DS can sleep on the day bed. its big/comfortable enough for me, im sure itll be good enough for a child :3dglasses

besides, im sure he wouldnt mind having his own bed instead of having to sleep on the bed with is ds :teeth:

i say stick with one room, it'll fit you guys fine...i'd request a room in Nuie, those rooms are big and spacious!

I agree that you would all fit into the one room. Remember the rooms at the Poly are much larger than other places. (WL rooms are 380 sq ft and Poly is over 400). My then 10 yo DD had plently of room on the day bed.

Check out Tikkiman's site for more info on the Poly.

I'm pretty sure that WL rooms are 340 sq ft, not 380. Though its been a while since I stayed at the Poly, I think 5 would be fine there.

I was in the Poly in Oct with 2 30 somethings, 2 4 year olds and 2 2 year olds all in the same room and we were fine with space! It was great... you should be fine too- the daybed is twin size and looked comfy so whomever is sleeping there won't be uncomfortable.

The day bed is very comfortable for an adult or a child. I would definitely stick with one room.

I would keep the one room - -we went with 3 adults, one 17 year old and one 9 year old -- everyone was female....and it was for a short trip (but still covered three hotel nights) over MNSSHP. We had a closet full of costumes -- we managed fine. We wanted to save the money and it worked out fine.

we are doing two connecting rooms at the pop in July. We also were wondering if we should spend the extra money, but decided a little distance is sometimes a good thing in the evenings/bedtime when you are with each other 24/7 for ten days.
Just a little something for us and the kids to keep stress levels at a minimum. :)

I would most likely do the two connecting at the values too - the rooms are much smaller than the Poly and don't include the extra bedding...the price is also much lower.

We have had 5 in the Poly and it was fine. The location of the Poly makes it all worth while. Being on the Monorail always wins out with us!

We did 9 nights at the Polynesian a few years back. We had 5 - me, husband, son and two nieces. My two nieces shared one bed and my son and husband shared the other. I slept in the day bed and it was very comfortable. I'd recommend it to any adult. We were in Morea which is now Tahiti.

My mom always came with us to WDW. She didn't mind the day bed at all. It is essentially a twin bed with pillows. One room is absolutely fine.
