Would we use a balcony in August?

Although we have been to WDW several times, we have never been in the height of summer. For our next trip we have booked a week at the Beach Club, I know that not all the rooms have balconies and so I could try requesting one. Would we make good use of it, or would it be too hot?
Thank you

We stayed at the Beach Club twice last August and both my daughter and I enjoyed the balcony quite a bit. It was a nice place to sit while others were getting ready, resting, or reading. It wouldn't break my trip if we don't get one this August, but it would disappoint us a bit. I think it is worth the request.

I think it's always nice to have a balcony to enjoy an early morning cup of coffee before the August heat of the day really sets in.

Good point about using the balcony when others are getting ready, etc.

This reminded me used to do this in Greece, I'm an early riser so I guess I would make good use of a balcony this way.

Thanks for the replies, I know that a request for a balcony is not guaranteed, but it's worth a try.:)

Yes, we used our balconies a lot during our August stays. They are nice to have a coffee and read the paper in the morning, or sit in the evening.

We stayed at Poly in August and I loved going out on the balcony in the morning, night and also when it rained...very relaxing.

We have stayed at AKL with a balcony in August and we definitely used it early in the morning especially when everyone is getting ready. It is cooler in the early morning and was quite enjoyable.

echo what others have said
our last three trips we have stayed at WL and used the balcony each morning for our breakfast from Roaring Forks.
It was nice :)

Great question.. I was wondering this too. We're looking at staying at Poly for a few nights on our honeymoon but the buildings we were thinking of asking for don't have balconies. Maybe we will use ours in August too, if we get one.

I had a room with a full balcony at the BC the last week of July -- I was actually surprised how much we used it. It was nice in the morning when waiting for everyone to get ready, and nice watching the pools during the day. All you can do is request it, and hope for the best. :)

when we stayed at the GF, we used our balcony alot. We went back to our room mid-day so our DD could nap. (and her daddy!) so I took my Nook and went out to the balcony. It was the most peaceful, relaxing time of the day!

We actually are choosing the YC over the BC next trip for that very reason... we really want the balcony again!:)

We stayed at the BCVs last Aug. and we used the balcony all the time. We used it in the morning to enjoy coffee/tea and our daughter loved it at night to read and make phone calls. We will be returning in Aug. and thankfully we won't have to worry about the balcony since all the villas have full balconies.
