Would we borrowing 2005 points or not??

We plan to book at VWL at the 11-month mark for the Christmas 2005 holidays. We have a large number of banked points and are trying to decide if we want to rent (or transfer) most, if not all, of those points and then use our 2005 points (Oct use year) for this reservation. If we use our October '05 points to book a trip for December '05, are we borrowing those points or not??

I'm sure DH & I are making this more difficult than it actually is, but we're still a bit confused!! Thanks for your input!!

Unless you banked your 2004 use year points in the last three weeks or so(since you would have received them on October 1), your banked points (which I would presume are from 2003 use year) will expire on October 31, 2005 so that they could not be used for your Christmas trip. Any visit after October 1, 2005 could use your 2005 use year points without borrowing them.

No you would not be borrowing. You can make reservations up to 11 months in advance but your use year points become effective on the 1st of that month. So if you have an Oct use year and vacation in Dec 2005, you will be using that use year's points unless you have others banked. MS will always use your banked points first, I would make a point of telling them also. If any of your banked points are from 2003 use year you will have to use them by Sept 30 2005 or lose them. Those you will not be able to use for your Dec 2005 reservations. Hope that helps

Sorry, I typed too quickly. Your banked points, as jcanary points out, would expire September 30, 2005.

You will also have to rent out your banked points. Banked points can't be transfered.
