Would WDW Ever Do This?????

If you are an old person who smells like poop because you have no control over your bodily functions, anybody who would like another seat away from you in a restaurant, theater, or whatever is seen as an insensitive clod. AARP would be all up in your face for suggesting that that old person should be excluded.

I resemble that remark you young whiper snapper! And no I would not be in favor of adults only night, Geriatric night or young whiper snapper night

Agreed, the one time I got in a hot tub that wasn't owned by a familiy member was at POFQ.. parents just allowed their kiddos to splash around in there, drag in dirt and leaves etc. IMO, this is why we have pools. Worse yet, some of them just dropped the kids off there and walked away!? Which meant that not only was Junior annoying the heck out of everybody, now we had to watch him to make sure he didn't drown.

Hot tub is my usual pain. I remember before they rebuilt CBR pool area, hot tub was inside the pool, right next to the slide, so every little kid was jumping in to warm up and then off to the slide. I never even used tub in such conditions. Now they have 2, one behind slide building, pretty secluded, not that kids do not go there, but not in such a number and usually with adult.

Given that Walt got the idea for the original Disneyland when he took his children to an amusement park and was frustrated that there weren't more things they could do there, all of them together as a family, no. I don't think WDW could, would, or should do this.

Yes, but he probably enjoyed spending time with his children. What about us parents that have rude, snot-nosed, punks as children? I would like to escape from this never ending prison sentence, also known as my life, whenever possible. So, I'm all for a kid-free Disney World. They just ruin everything with their whining, farting and nose picking. The kids can have Vegas. I want Dumbo all to myself.

To the OP - if Disney thought/thinks that an adults-only night might increase revenue/profits consistently, they would/will do it. IMO, in order for it to draw enough adults to make it worthwhile, you'd have to sell alcohol. That would be no problem everywhere except MK, so I doubt they'll ever do it there, on principle.

To the OP - if Disney thought/thinks that an adults-only night might increase revenue/profits consistently, they would/will do it. IMO, in order for it to draw enough adults to make it worthwhile, you'd have to sell alcohol. That would be no problem everywhere except MK, so I doubt they'll ever do it there, on principle.

I, myself, am stunned that not one poster has seen the obvious parallel between an adults only night and the coming of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Come on people, it's right there in front of you. Just connect the dots.

I didn't think you meant "adult" as in XXX. I was talking about the Adult and Solo Travelers section on the disboards here. The Theme Park Section is full of families who are not taking this lightly. So if you would have posted this in another section, you may have had more of a fun suggestion thread rather than people up in arms thinking that your a child hater or something. Not saying that you are, but people with children take them quite seriously, some don't but I think most do on this board.

I think I know what Walt's dream was. His dream is similar to most of ours. It goes something like this.

He wakes in his animation studios department. An animator asks him to check the storyboard that he had been working on. Walt isn't really paying attention to his animator because he is wondering why he is completely naked. The animator does not seem to notice. Just then, a unicorn comes crashing through the wall and Walt jumps on it, declaring, "Freedom!" He then waves the sword in his hand that he had been carrying all along. As the unicorn takes flight through the hallways of his animation studio, passing other employees, Walt is perplexed why they don't seem alarmed by the fact that he is flying naked on a unicorn. All is well, as the unicorn gently glides in for a landing on top of the pile of half melted m & m's. This is especially troubling to Walt, as he was under the impression that they only melt in your mouth. That doesn't matter much. What matters is that all this nudity has made him very hungry, and he starts gobbling down the chocolaty goodies. Just them, his wife walks in and demands the secret code to gain access to the marshmallow village. it's on the tip of his head, but he can't remember. Why can't he remember? It's maddening. Just then he hears a distant beeping. It is his alarm clock waking him up from his dream.

So you see, his dreams were just a ordinary as ours. I have variations of this dream several times a week, as I'm sure all of us have. Right?

There is always control and discrimination. Many people can't afford to go to Disney. Is that a form of discrimination? Why should poor children get to experience what yours do?

Are you serious? If someone wants to take there children to WDW the can SAVE their money and go. Nobody is holding them back from that. It may take them 10 years but they can still go. My DH and I work our tails off to save so we can go, not expecting WDW to give us a break. NOBODY is being DISCRIMINATED against by their prices. So since I want a Coach purse and can't aforrd one is the Coach company discriminating to me? You thought the other pp was being over the top.

On Wednesday, January 6th, 2010, Magic Kingdom closes at 8pm...for EVERYONE of ALL AGES. If Disney had an event, a hard ticket event, called "Party After Hours in Magic Kingdom" and it was for adults...and it was open from say 9pm to 2 am...where would the harm be?

Again...the park would be CLOSED ANYWAY. There would be NO ONE IN THERE. How is that POSSIBLY discrimination? How would that make poor Walt roll over in his grave? How would that possibly affect John, Mary and the 3 kids who flew all the way down from Iowa to bring their kids to Magic Kingdom and they now couldn't because DISNEY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST THEM?

Sometimes I wonder if people check their brains at the login screen when they surf the web...I mean Hitler??? The Holocaust???? Unreal.

I see what you are saying. Thanks for clarifying. You're probably right about that. I certainly didn't want to come across as a child-hater, because I'm not. And to be honest, I love seeing the little girls dressed in their princess outfits, and the joy that being at WDW brings to the faces of most children. Just thought the concept of offering ONE adult EVENING (not a whole day) might be an interesting discussion. Obviously, I thought wrong.

Just giving an extreme example, so you can hold on to your britches!You can save money for a purse, and a child can grow up for an adult only evening in the "world!" At least I didn't say I agreed with people comparing the Holocaust to an adult only time!

If this post would have been, What is your favorite Magic Kingdom ride? By the 7th post it would have been, the ride where wheelchairs dont take 15 people with them to the front. Where is the icon of a smiley face beating a dead horse?
Now people are adding Hitler to the list of complaints.

OP, its a fair question, i dont think Disney would do it just for the fact that they wouldnt sell that many tickets. The majority is there with their kids, so IMO i dont think most parents would leave their kids alone for the night. Or with a babysitting service. I know i wouldnt.

I don't think that Disney would have an adults only night, if for no other reason than financial ones. My husband and I have been to WDW without the kids and we spent WAY LESS money when the kids weren't with us. Think of all those light-up spinners and silly toys (that we have still bought, BTW) that probably would not be sold. I don't see a lot of adults standing in line to buy balloons either.

I think that Disney makes the most money when they are as inclusive as possible. That do not want to turn anyone's money away. Disney does not want to limit who it takes money from. At least with most parties now, we still have the "privilege" of paying extra to give Disney more of our money.
