would u buy this car?

Sorry to say I would not.

And if you do make sure in the warranty it says what's going to get fixed in the warranty. And how much out of pocket will you have to pay.

Also look here it see what its worth http://www.nadaguides.com/priceguides/?gclid=CIaA8Iuxk54CFURR2god8luY6A

Agreed, and great advice on the "warranty." Many folks hear "warranty" and assume it's a bumper-to-bumper warranty like with a new car, but most aren't really warranties--they're pre-paid service contracts with deductibles and exclusions. Important to read the fine print on those to know what you're getting.

Run. Run away. And don't look back. If a salesman ever says that to you - RUN, don't walk!

I personally wouldn't buy it. With that many miles, it just sounds like trouble. I've bought used before, and had good luck with it. So I'm not against it per se. To a certain extent, I do feel like buying used is buying someone else's problem. But with the right research and a good knowledge of how cars work, buying used can sometimes be the best way to go.

I'm the type of person who buys a car for the long haul. I owned my last vehicle for 13 years and 175,000 miles. So it makes more sense for me to buy new. Trade in value doesn't mean squat to me because I'm not planning on changing cars until mine completely falls apart. But if you're the type who drives a car for a few years and trades it in, then used makes far more sense. It just depends on what your vehicle ownership habits are.

WE bought a used chevy with only $47,000 miles on it. Figured we were good for awhile. It was a never ending money pit until we dumped it and still had to make a few payments. I will never buy a used chevy again unless it's apickup truck.

With that many miles on something I wouldn't want to buy anything, chevy or not but I might make an exception for a honda or toyota. It's one thing to already own a vehicle with that many miles, you know the history and how it's taken care of but to take on a car with that many miles means someone else dumped it quick before it started costing more. I wouldn't go for it.

DH just bought a truck with almost 200,000 miles on it (2001). He says they aren't broke in til 100k....
But he is a mechanic, so can fix a lot of stuff should the need arise.

Did you have a mechanic go over it?
