My brother and fiance got notification that they were picked in the lottery for their wedding date They are currently planning an escape wedding, but after looking at the wishes wedding again, I wanted to just run through some numbers to see if they could possibly have that instead of an escape(reason being is that neither of their nieces or nephews can attend because of the max guest of 18) So, for my "At The Least" price for a Monday Wedding, would think be pretty close to accurate:

Wedding Pavillion: $4,000.00
*Food & Beverage Min Dinner: $4,230.00
Entertainment Min: $5,000.00
$13,230.00

21 % Service Charge $2,778.30
6.5% Sales Tax $ 859.95

Total Est. Cost $16,868.25


*Food & Bev. min consists of 18 adults @ $175, 3 Juniors @ $160, and 6 children @ $100

Further no sales tax on the Entertainment use.

Entertainment Min: $5,000

Total: $14,653.25 based on the numbers you gave.

I don't recall a $5,000 minimum for entertainment. Our DJ was a little over $1,500. Unless you're looking at a caricaturist, Mickey and Minnie, or a DP?

I'm guessing that by entertainment you mean enhancement? That would include the entertainment, floral, decor, additional venue fees if there are any, etc.
You could cut the food min down too if they did a breakfast or lunch instead of dinner. But otherwise, that looks right from the info in Carrie's book.

Assuming the couple want to invite the children (I'll be honest, we did not wish to have kids at our wedding), do you have an idea of what their max budget would be?

To clarify a few things...

1) You pay tax on the service charge too, so the tax on food and beverage would be $332.69.

2) Many things qualify for the Enhancement Minimum besides entertainment, and (unlike entertainment) some of them have additional service fees and tax.

3) Photography and videography are going to either increase the overall cost of the wedding (if they use outside vendors) or eat up a HEFTY portion of that $5,000 Enhancement Minimum (if they use Disney), with little left for the reception venue fee (if applicable), floral, decor, entertainment, transportation, etc.

These are just thing to be aware of because they show how much the extra charges can start to add up for a Wishes event—vs. an Escape event, where you pay a flat rate that includes tax and service charge and pretty much everything you need.

Yep, I meant Enhancement not Entertainment! They have already booked a 2:30pm ceremony which I believe would put them for a "dinner" reception instead of a lunch,etc.

They really wanted their nieces and nephews "in" the wedding which is the biggest problem. Unfortunately we have a large family(groom's immediate family is 13 people and bride's immediate family is 11 people including kids).

Honestly, their budget is no more than $16,000 for the wedding(including taxes,etc.) They have recently purchased a "fixer-upper" house and it's costing them more than expected since they are running into problems that they were not aware of. I am sure between the 2 families the difference can be made up, but I just didn't want to give them the idea and they find out it would cost $30,000

.We were looking into the Disney Photographers but the prices seem crazy. They were talking about potentially using an outside photographer. Is their anything that they need to know about doing that? Are they able to take pictures of them inside the park for example if their reception is in Epcot?

Sorry about that, yes, rechecking our BEO, there was sales tax on the service charge.

We used outside photography. Root Photography. They are so nice and pleasant. We love their pictures.

They did have to fill out waivers and they were assigned media guides during our DP. I'm not sure if your reception is in Epcot if the same applies.

I hate to be the negative Nancy, but I would have them double check to make sure that the families are able to cover the extra costs (and how much the families are willing to chip in). In our wedding planning, we are looking at it from all aspects as if we are paying for the wedding ourselves and also you will want to make sure the Wishes package is what they want. One of the aspects of the Escape wedding that I love is that I don't have to make all that many decisions (both my fiance and I are busy people and we don't want to have to spend all that much time looking at centerpieces and such). I'd also be bummed if we were given a planning session but couldn't really afford to go to it.

Have they looked into possibly doing a Swan & Dolphin wedding? (I'm assuming they're looking at Florida)
