Would this be okay to do at a resort restaurant?

If we are celebrating a "late birthday" at Disney (we are going to put off the birthday celebration until we arrive at disney, less than a week after the actual birthday, because the vacation is the big b-day gift), anyway would it be okay to tell someone at the restaurant we are celebrating a b-day even though it's really a late birthday? I think it would be fine, but I'm not sure if they frown upon that, I mean we won't be having a party in the restaurant or anything but we will have a large group. If it would be a problem though, we'll just celebrate the b-day in our hotel room. I just thought it would be nice to have a b-day dinner on our vacation since we won't be having one before we go (trying to save money for the trip).

This sounds stupid I'm sure....sorry. :confused3

I see no problem. Like you said, you are "celebrating" the birthday at the time of your vacation.

We always celebrate my DD birthday 2 days after her actual birthday at WDW.
This year we are going to dinner at 1900 Park Faire for her - we are ordering a cake from them too. pixiedust:

DD has her birthday party with her friends either the week before we leave for WDW or the week after we come back from WDW.

I just can not deal with 6 teen girls sleeping over in my house 2 nights before we leave for WDW. :crazy2: The 'boys' leave the house for the evening when DD has her birthday sleepover. :rotfl:

So, YES - if you are within the month of the birthday person's birth date - go for it and enjoy. Remember to get a WDW birthday button at MK town hall. Any age can get them - not just for kids. The pattern on the WDW birthday button does not seem to change year to year. My DD has quiet a few of the same WDW birthday button pinned to her bulletin board.

Absolutely you should celebrate the birthday! Its not like you are taking advantage of some freebie only offered on the actual day. One week is pretty close actually. Have a great trip and a fun birthday celebration!

If you say you are celebrating the birthday, you aren't lying.

I don't see why you shouldn't; everyone else does. I swear that we heard people singing, "Happy Birthday," at almost every meal.

Will you be adding the cha-cha-chas? I like that version better. :goodvibes

I was on an IllumiNations Cruise once, and the boat parked next to us was celebrating a birthday, they had a cake and the pontoon boat was decorated with a Birthday Banner and Ballons..... we asked who's birthday they were celebrating, they said everybody's (there were 8 ppl on the boat). They had all 8 names on the cake, and no they were not octuplets! They said they do this every year when they are at Disney, they celebrate everybody's birthday because being at Disney was so special to them.

Sure you can tell them that, but unless you arrange in advance for a cake, don't expect one, and they generally do charge for them. Usually you'll get either a candle in the dessert, or a cupcake, but that's it.

What does a birthday button do for you. Is it just for show?
Thanks!
