Would this be okay? Reservation/website issues

I had a reservation for 3 nights in September. Last night, I noticed Labor Day weekend opened up so I cancelled my initial reservation. Long story short, I wasn't aware of the website issues and after three hours of attempting to complete the reservation, it still would not allow me to complete the request. The nights were still available when I gave up at 12:30 last night but of course are not available now this morning. I was however able book two of the three nights in a studio and set up a waitlist for the last night. There is a one bedroom available for that last night but I only have 19 points available (have already bought my allotment for this year too). Is it worth asking for a supervisor/escalating this? Do you think they can pixie dust the extra points to me or make another night in a night in a studio available?

My issue is we have an October use year so now in addition to worrying about disappointing my son, I am worried about losing my points.
 
Good luck with your issue. We tried to make a "two browser" cancel and re-book yesterday evening. The system of course worked flawlessly on the cancel side but the "session" working on the new booking crashed even though we were successfully holding the new reservation. I was able, thankfully to grab what we wanted about 11PM last night. Keep trying. All during our process one night of four repeatedly showed availabile, then not, available then not etc. even just prior to our snagging it. I guess that means I "stalked the RAT and got what we wanted.

That sounds very similar to what happened to me except I was only working in one browser. Cancel went through no problem. It was the rebooking and getting error after error after error.

Sometimes when you're holding a reservation and then lose it due to website issues, the system will release the hold after 20 minutes and it will become available again.
 
You can certainly call and talk with someone and let them know what happened. However, there is no way to have a room become available if there really aren't any. In terms of points, no, there would be no way for them to give you the points. However, at this point, you can buy OTU points, up to 24, to complete the 1 bedroom for the night so you at least have something. I believe they are still $15/pt
