Currently we have AOA/Nemo for our first night - then fd w/ PIN 2 Royal Rooms/POR w/ 10 day PHWPM and Deluxe dining -- total is $9267.29 for our family of 5 all of whom are considered "adults" by Disney.

Everyone wants a different theme and dh would like to save a little money :) -- so would it be crazy to do this and would my idea even work. I have checked the PIN website and these are the prices and dates are avail BTW.

first night stay in off-site hotel for $135.00 - includes evening "meal" and breakfast bar.
12th - 16th - POR RR w/ deluxe dining and 9 day PHWPM tickets -- $4933.16
16th-18th - AOA Nemo suite w/out tickets added on or dining -- we should have a couple credits left for 16th so 17th would be OOP -- w/ AAA room discount --- $549.41
18th - 21st -- CBR Pirate standard room w/ 2 day base ticket and deluxe dining -- $3027.40

This would save $622.32 w/out cutting our days in Disney which would pay for our OOP meals and our MVMCP tickets.

I've split my reservations before, but all those changes can be exhausting! Each time you have to pack & repack. Gotta be a better way. Plus keep in mind check/ins/outs & waiting for luggage..ugh

I can't even imagine packing and moving that many times---and with that many people!!! The time taken to check in, check out, check in, check out, etc. could be better spent enjoying yourselves!

My question would be the deluxe dining plan. I'm assuming you've got the regular plan included and you're paying to upgrade. Do you really need to? Deluxe plan means a lot of time spent sitting and eating. Or if you're only over by one or two credits, pay OOP for a couple instead of adding the whole other level of plan. I'm sure the cost of upgrading 5 adults for all those days adds up quick!

I cant comment on the dining plan, but I have done the split stay. It depends how your family operates. For me, I leave all of my stuff in my suitcase. I also have a toiletries case. So the only packing I would do would be to put my shampoo back in the case and zip my bag! Drop it off with bell services on my way to the bus to deliver to the next resort and boom. Done and off to the races. A family of 5 would be more difficult. Check in will go quickly if you are not particular on your room and do it online. That is a long stay though, so I do not think you would be too rushed, and you would get to see a bunch of their resorts which can be an attraction in itself. 600 is a decent chunk of money to save if you think you can make the transition smoothly without making the trip stressful.

I've done split stays before but my preference will always be to stay put for the duration of the trip. Splits are a lot of packing, schelpping and waiting for rooms to be ready. Have you priced out the Nemo suite with dining for the whole stay? It might be nice to have that little bit of extra room?

Split stays are a great way to experience multiple resorts but with your current plan, you'll be moving 4 times over the course of 10 days. That, in my opinion, is way too much for a relatively small amount of money when compared to the grand total.

With 4 moves, it's going to be difficult, and probably impossible, to fully unpack and enjoy the resort. Just as you're starting to feel "at home" it'll be time to pack and move again. If I were in your position, I'd pick 2 resorts and split it right down the middle, 5/5.

I think that is way to many moves. I think if you narrow it own to maybe 2 resorts it would help calm things down. Also save you some cash.

Good luck!

If you stuck with the first plan, you wouldn't have any OOP meals, so you should probably subtract the cost of what you will eat on the 17th from your savings. With a family of 5 "adults", that could be $200 or so. So you are really only saving enough to buy the MVMCP tickets with perhaps another $100 to spare. I don't know if moving around that much is worth it? Maybe your family doesn't mind the moves.

Also, for a family of 5 Disney "adults", you will save about $220 PER NIGHT by simply sticking with the regular dining plan.

Another thought - will you be going to the parks all 10 days AND going to a water park, DisneyQuest, etc. 10 times? That's what is included in the 10 day PHWPFM ticket. If not, you can reduce the number of days on your tickets to save a little money.

Also, if you are going to the parks all 10 days, put the 10-day pass back on the first resort package so you can save the 2-day ticket from CBR for another trip. You may have to buy two sets of tickets to go through with your plan, but it doesn't mean you have to use both sets!

Good points.

The 9 day with wpm ticket allows you to get into the main parks on 9 days AND have 9 admissions to the waterparks&more. Do you NEED all of those main parks, or do you think you'll have some days where you're just hitting the waterparks and/or disney quest?

And yes, the 12th through the 21st seems to only be 10 days, so you don't need 9 + 2. If you don't want to upgrade anything, just do an 8 day then a 2 day. But it's probably better if you get the 10 day ticket with your first package, then just do the 2 day for the second package and save it for the future.

I have enjoyed split stays, but 4 hotels inside of 10 days is a bit much. Trust me. And we only have 3 to move.

that doesn't sound relaxing..... If I had a family of 5 I'd pick the best price on length of stay+FD(regular, not deluxe)+base tickets for stay (10 days) to save some $$$- Feed the kids cold cereal in room daily, and eat lunch cs ,and dinner TS daily..... if you're there 10 days you won't miss the 10 days of 'extras' that you're current;y looking at..... so either a suite onsite,or 2 pop rooms, etc etc....

I agree with this!

OP, I just feel like it's too much moving, too many extras, and too much food.
