DH convinced me not to get a photographer for our wedding 2yrs ago....ever since I haven't been fully satisfied with our pictures and get really upset when I look at other peoples because there are poses I would have liked to get. All the pictures during the actual wedding are fine it's just the formal ones you take in between. I have been contemplating getting dressed in my dress again and having some of the poses I wish I had taken....DH thinks people would think we are nuts since it's been just over 2 years...would this be crazy to do?

I don't think so. Well, OK, it might be crazy if, like, you guys posed with your arms outstretched and then Photoshopped in pictures of your guests or something! :rotfl:

I've seen several "just married" photo shoots with the already-married couple in their finery, and they're really cool-looking!

I think you should do the picture shoot, even now. My mother had to do this because her photos were lost by her photographer. Two years is not that long of a time compared to how happy you will feel having the poses you wanted and seeing your photos 30 years from now. I say go for it!

You could always do a VR and have the pictures taken again!!
If not, I think having them done again is not crazy. I say go for it too!!!!

DH & I got all dressed up about 6 months after our wedding because we were not satisfied with our pictures. But in our case my BIL took the pictures (12 rolls of 36 shots each) and we could only salvage about a handfull because the idiot was focusing his camera on his eye and he needed glasses but was to vain to use them! So all our wedding pictures are from anyone I saw (via the video) of who had a camera and that is how we put a wedding album together.

Anyway, there are still some shots I wanted to get but couldn't and never will be able to but I'm ok with that now but it's taken YEARS! :rotfl:

So I say GO FOR IT!!

I think this is a great idea! Nothing crazy, just a very simple vow renewal by yourselves, and then pictures after!

I don't think it's crazy even if you didn't want to do the VR, but I just think it would make the day really special and something you will remember!

I think getting all dressed up again and taking pictures is a great idea! I would take them in locations that you wouldn't normally see weddings at. I love my wedding pictures but would love pictures of us in our wedding gear in different places.

I think you should totally do it, it's not crazy at all.

Thanks everyone! I am still trying to convince DH he thinks ppl will think we have lost it. Any suggestions on how I could convince him! There are some great places around here I would have loved to have it done!

We thought about doing this after we had a horribly rainy day on our wedding day and I wasn't able to get any good shots other than posing in a meeting room at the Swan. We did take some photos in front of the Swan statue in the lobby but it just wasn't what I was picturing.
In the end, we ended up starting a family and taking other fun trips-doing other fun things-that I spent money on that we would have spent on re-taking the pictures. It just didn't make sense to us to 're-live' that moment when we could make so many new moments. JMHO. Someday I'll get my vow-renewal and my fabulous pictures!!

Yeah someday I want to do a vow renewal in Disney and that will get me my dream Disney "wedding" (or as close as i can get now lol) and Disney wedding pics. I would just be taking pics here and I now own a professional camera so I wouldn't need to actually hire a photographer (at my wedding I just had a point and shoot and had been so caught up I never thought about all the formal poses I love). I can do my own makeup and have someone I know do my hair and my bouquet was fake so I still have it....the only thing he would need to do is rent a tux. If it would cost a lot of money I am with you I wouldn't do it lol. The only reason we haven't done it sooner is because we were saving for a house so we didn't even want to spend the money on the tux and I never had the camera so we would have needed a photographer.

I think it's a great idea and the perfect excuse for a VR. Try and plead to the romantic in him and explain how happy it would make you to relive such a special day.
