Would this be bad???

Jack- I haven't been since May and at that time they weren't doing this. However, I know they do this at WDW (even though I've never been) and that this was in "the works" for DL too.

So does this mean they actually have it now??

If so, then the OP wouldn't have to worry about giving her park tickets away on her last day. Since no one else would be able to use them for anything other then FP's.

Not Jack but no not yet but there's been "talk" about it happening.

I heard 2012 for biometrics.

Very true! And I'd give them to a fellow Disser.. not a random stranger

Aaahh...yes, yes...talk. Seems like they've been "talking" about it for awhile now.

Guess if I were the folks at Disney, I would want to make this a priority. Especially if they are so concerned with illegal sales/transfers etc. Ok, off my soapbox now...:goodvibes

So this means that the OP will need to be very careful about who she gives those tickets to. Because legitimately, they could walk them out of the park and hand them off or even sell them to others. Now I'm not saying those folks would do something like that as Disney tends to bring out the best in people, go figure!;) However, there is still a slim chance that some dishonest person could end up with them and use them for their own personal gain beyond just the extra FP's.

And OP...yes, I would bet that a fellow DISer would be a much better bet....:thumbsup2

With the what?

Same things they have at WDW.

But it doesn't matter in this case, because you're meeting IN the park, they will already HAVE tickets, and even if they did have friends waiting outside, they'd need to deal with the handstamp issue, if there are problems with that any friends outside would need to know how you used the tickets, etc etc...

We are only going half day on Monday (the 28th) so I was thinking about meeting up with a fellow DISer...

You told us right up front it's for a dis'er...good info in the post!

I'm with Queen/Tracey, these are for FPs, they are for people who have tickets already, it's seriously NO different than just running around grabbing FPs for other people and handing them over to your friends.

Ok.. well I think I may do it :)

One thing I have not seen mentioned yet is that the PH ticket you are handing out has a value. That value can be used to upgrade to a multi-day ticket or even an AP. This would be like "Free" cash toward another ticket.

Just a thought :confused3

So right! Didn't even think of this...

You could give the tickets to someone outside the park, then they could go over to the harbor crosswalk(scalp it) or even call a friend and say come on down for a half day of fun. All of these things will stop with the biometric scanners.

Jack

I wonder if the biometric scanners will cut down on this problem enough that U.S. residents will once again be allowed to purchase 7+ day PH's? I hope so!

Maybe bring a sharpie with you and write on the front "VOID - may only be used to collect FPs/ Used by "your name" for park admittance 3/xx/11-3/xx/11"

We always give our extra fastpasses away as we leave the park at night. Giving to park tickets away is against the rules since they are non tranferable...would anyone know.. probably not.

Jack

I'm confused?:confused3

Are you talking about giving them your park tickets or extra FP tickets?

If so...I would recommend, no on the park tickets. Just doesn't really seem like a very good idea. Unless of course that's your last day in the parks?? In that case, I say go for it!

Our last trip, I got a FP for every ticket (there's 3 in our family) but I routinely ended up not using mine. I am NOT a fan of Space Mtn.:scared1: So I usually ended up giving away my extra FP ticket rather then have it go to waste. This I would definately say DO! Good karma and all that...

i do have to agree.. i think giving tickets away is a bad idea..i just would not do it... sorry...

Just sign the back like you're supposed to and then no one else can use it for admission. Well unless the CMs at the gate don't check that.....

there's a signature line on the back of your park hoppers, you are supposed to sign in case you lose the tickets, the CM's are supposed to match signatures and IDs but most don't. So if you sign the back and the CM's check (which they would for upgrade purposes) then they will refuse the upgarde because the signatures don't match.
