Hi,

We're not new to Disney, or making ADR's, (we usually purchase the Dining Plan) but I almost never go to the WDW site. I find it easier to get my Disney info here, or Mouse Savers, All Ears, etc.

Before I go over there and get all kinds of frustrated, would someone post the steps to go through when making an ADR online? Please be as specific as possible... start here, click this, enter _____.

In fact, I'm looking for the, "Online ADR's for Dummies," version. :rotfl:

Thanks so much.

Okay, I'll try to help!

First, go to the WDW website. www.disneyworld.disney.go.com.

Now, if you have a package booked and wish to have the reservations linked to your conf # (you don't have to do this, but it was helpful when it was 90+10 so you could make all your reservations at the same time), then log in first. If you don't have a log-in at the site, you can make one or you can skip this step.

Put the "hand" over "BOOK" at the top of the site, then slide over to "dining reservations".

On the left, a list of locations will come up. If you want to make a MK reservation, put a check mark on MK.

The page will load with all the restaurants at MK. Scroll down to the one you want, then click on the orange "Book a reservation" box.

Put the date and time you are looking for, and the # in your party, then put "check availability".

If there is something available an hour before or after the time you requested, it will pop up. Mark the time you want, then go down to the bottom and fill in the weird words to confirm. It will then put your reservation in the cart. At that point, you can click "keep searching" or "check out".

Hope that helps!!!

When I did it, I just went to the reservation website, hit see all restaurants on top right. This will give you 9 pages of restaurants. Hit see all on top right again and it will condense it all into 1 page . Scroll down to desired restaurant, hit check availability, enter resort reservation # if you have one and then fill in time # of people and it will tell you if it is available at that time, a later time or other places that are available

1. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com

2. Towards top of page cursor over Plan to get drop down box, then to Dining Reservations, Click.

You are now at a sight that lists all the restaurants.

3. Narrow your search on the left side to bring up the restaurants in an area, ie, resorts, a specific park , etc. Page loads with all the restaruants in the specific area.

4. Find the restaurant you are looking for by scrolling down. Only restaurants that accept ADR's will have a Make Reservation tab availabe on the bottom left side of the listing. Click on Make your Reservation.

5. Follow directions for Update Profile, Log in, or If you are a Resort Guest of using the Dining Plan click here, if applicable. You do not HAVE to do any of these in order to make a reservation, but if you do, your "Disney information" will stay current with Disney. (at least that is how I understand it)

6. Fill in Date, Time and Dining Party information correctly for your request.

7. Click Check Availability

8. Scroll up to see the availability of the restaurant you requested. If the exact time of your request is not available they will give you alternatives if there is something close to what you asked for. If there isn't, they will give you other restaurant alternatives. If there isn't anything available but your time is flexible, click on Modify Search in the upper right corner of requested restaurant. Repeat 6 and 7

9. When you find a reservation place and time that works for you, scroll down to Security Check and type the letters into the box. Click on Add to Dining Cart. (This may take a few tries. I had a hard time getting the Security check to go through)

10. Takes you to a summary page. At this point you can either continue with additional ADR's or check out.

11. To Check out: Scroll down, fill in guest information, scroll down again and click continue.

Confirmation Page!

You will receive an email confirming your reservation with in a few minutes.

Good Luck!!

Here's a follow-up question:

Once a reservation is in your "cart," does it stay there until you load your cart with everything else and then confirm? In other words, if I put a CRT time in my cart, will it disappear because someone else grabbed it while I was finding all my other restaurants?

My understanding is it would stay in your cart for 20 min. if there was no more activity in the cart it would clear out... sort of like ticketmaster. I thought it was sooooo easy, easier than being on the phone! I made mine the day after the meltdown day this week and it only took me about 10 min. to plug them all in and get confirmation and check out!

This would be great IF it actually worked!

Ive been trying from the 27th and I cannot get past the first reservation page. I hit the calendar icon but it does not bring anything up, and if I do it manually when I hit the 'check availability' button it tries to send me a small file my computer does not recognize.

Calls to Disney tech support are useless, all you get it that they are making upgrades but no effort to find the problem.

Ive NEVER been able to get to the system since they opened it on the 27th.

Just for the heck of it - try a different Internet browser. It works for me with Firefox but not Safari. I've heard others say it worked with IE7 and not IE 8 (or maybe vice-versa).

Safari and opera didnt work, Ill download firefox and try that.

Yes, Opera didn't work either - I should have said that - Firefox is the only way I could make it work - but I didn't have the exact same problems you're having, but different ones!

No, no luck. Does not work on any browser.

Can someone give it a shot and see if they can get past the first screen and see available dates?

Thanks Everyone! You guys are the best.

We're going in April, and I plan to book our ADR's over the weekend, BUT...
You'll never guess what happened...

DH came home for lunch yesterday and told me a guy he works with is leaving for Disney on Nov. 7, for 6 days, party of 5, with the DP, and hadn't made a single dining reservation!

So, armed with my new info, I made their reservations for them yesterday! :yay:
