I must have disney depression I just can't get my mind straight on what to do what days. Is it sad to say that I want someone to plan out the days? SO, HELP ME, PLEASE!!!!
The motley crew is...
DH 38
Me 25 with a few years of experience
DD 13 - going on 25 :(
DS 5
DD 4

We're going to Universal Aug 1-3 and heading over to the BWV's on Aug 4-10. Our flight leaves out around 2pm on sunday. All have annual passes.
I just can't seem to make up my mind. You guys know the drill... spouse says "whatever you plan honey, I'm sure will be great" or some variation of that. I told my DH that I was having a hard time and he suggested maybe we needed to go somewhere else... WHAT?!?!?!?! No way!! I love going I just need some help... do i sound desperate yet??

ps.. we're not picky and built in nappy breaks would be great :)

While I don't think I can plan your days completely, I will tell you what my family does.

Go to the park with ee and get there at least 15 minutes prior to opening. Use FP as thoroughly as you can. Eat lunch then go back to your hotel for a nap, swim whatever. Eat dinner go back to another park for the evening (or vice versa).

The next day start the same thing over, etc, etc, etc.......

Oh yeah, skip a day in between for R&R. Go to a water park. Go to Downtown Disney for shopping some evening instead of going back to another park.

Think fun. (Maybe you should buy the Unofficial Guide book. It will give you more specific touring plans).

Tinky -

Tell us more and we'd love to help. When was the last time you were at the parks. I start by putting in all parades/fireworks & shows (Don't forget to have things like Tarzan Rocks in AK - it was truly amazing). Then I add in some PS - sounds like you are good candidates for Crystal Palace Breakfast with Pooh, et al.

Good Luck
Sandy

Thank you!
We have been 9 or 10 times over the years, the last time in Feb this year. We're very familiar with the parks and attractions but I really don't have a opinion on what day to go to what park. We don't mind getting up early (DH is an early riser, and if he's up, EVERBODY is up:) and we like our pool and nap time in the middle of the day. Park hours should be (crossing fingers) long the first week of Aug.
I think part of the problem is that we're die hard Polynesian fans but since the rehab is happening during our stay (Hawaii building, DH insists on this building, spoiled) we wanted to try something else out so we're at the BWV. We thought the extra space to spread out would be nice. Maybe I'm outside my comfort zone?
I also think we do the same things every time and I want to try new things, hanging out more at Epcot in the evenings, more MGM time, etc.. make sense?
I find it ironic that a friend is going in september and I was all over that when she asked for help. It seemed so easy and fun to plan someone else's trip. :p
Thanks again for any help or insight!

Epcot's fantastic in the evenings. Sounds like a great idea. I'd also suggest afternoon naps back at the hotel. Our 4.5-year old daughter did really well with them.

As HappyBirthdayCat suggested, some of the Unofficial Guide's touring plans are designed to include these mid-day breaks while still minimizing your overall wait in line. The 2003 edition plans are particularly good at this. Drop me a line if you'd like more information:testa@ncat.edu. And thanks, HBC, for the feedback.

Sincerely,

Len

Tinky, it is good to see the touring plans even if you do not follow them. The great thing is that it looks like you have at least 5 full days at WDW - that is fabulous!!!

As for DH not helping, this is your opportunity to set the agenda and the pace of the trip to suit your needs. DD will probably want to do her own thing so if she is reponsible let her tour the park the family is at on her own and have a pre-arranged meeting spot(s) and time(s) to check in.

My DW had me do all the planning and it worked out great.

Built in nap and cool down time early afternoon and then head back out for more touring is always the way to go for the long haul.

Have a great trip!!!

Thanks
Jason

Tinky:

You will love the BWV's!!!! We are DVC owners there. There is so much to do and the place is right in the middle of things, you will love it. We used to stay at the Polynesian all of the time until we discovered the wonders of DVC, especially at the Boardwalk. If you have specific questions about the BWV's, please ask.
