To combat Alzheimer's, we're supposed to keep our brain active. On Facebook, there is a game called Bejeweled Blitz. Do you suppose playing it counts as an intellectual exercise?

I've played that. I would definitely call it an intellectual exercise. There's a mahjong game on there that i love even better. I'd say that counts too.

I could see it as a mental exercise, sure, especially if you force yourself to keep looking a move or more ahead to best set up higher-scoring opportunities. Unfortunately, I'm usually a lazy player and just go for whatever my eye lands on first. :sad2:

If I get 300,000 points or more, yes. If I only get 80,000, no. ;)

You'd have to really work at it. If you're just playing it for fun or stress relief, no, you're probably not challenging your brain enough. If you're really working on the strategy and increasing your score, then yes, it could be giving you the mental exercise you need.

It's like of like going for a walk. If you're just strolling along, enjoying the day, it's great, but it's not really "exercise" of the kind you need to keep your heart healthy and your muscles strong.

Nothing wrong with having an enjoyable hobby though!
