Hi, I would like to know if you can rent points for a stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. We would need 2 bedroom suite for Nov. 11 to Nov. 16, 2007.

I was not sure if it is possible to buy points to use for a reservation at AKL and also how can I find out how many points I would need.

Thanks
Margaret

the villas at the animal kingdom lodge (VAKL) is not accepting reservations yet AFAIK. i'm not aware of the AKL having 2BR suites.

renting points to stay at a regular hotel room at AKL would start at $330ish a night and up to $600 a night on weekends. renting points to stay at the regular disney hotels is a bad deal anyway.

look around a bit and keep an eye on when the VAKL gets up and running. (read the FAQs on renting also.) at this point you may want to look into an alternative, though.

edit: now it's AKV and not VAKL...my bad...

Thanks for the info. I am new at this, thinking of renting points for the first time.

Too early to answer your questions at this point.

DVC at the AKL is slated to open in 2007, but they aren't currently selling DVC points there, and reservations for Animal Kingdom Villas won't be available until the DVC portion of the resort is selling. No points per night info is available yet either.

Yes, you can rent DVC points to stay in a room at the Animal Kindom Lodge (the hotel proper), but you don't really want to do that. First off, I don't even know if they have suites available, and secondly, at $10 a point a Savannah view room would cost $330 (Sun - Thurs) to $590 (Fri - Sat) a night. You'd probably be better off booking direct with Disney.

No, I think what you want to do before exploring animal Kingdom point rental is wait until the DVC Villas at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is more than an announcement, but that is a little way off.
