would it be worth it?

Well, like you said, once you purchase so many days, one more day is only a few extra dollars, and yes it's doable to spend a few hours at the park. Do you sleep on the plane? If everyone is well rested, then I might consider wanting to stretch my legs, and what better way to do that than walking around the park for a few hours. But me personally after a 6am flight and 8 hours on a tiny plane, I'd just be ready to have a decent meal, maybe a dip in the pool, and off to bed.

Ive decided to not buy a ticket for that night. I think if we get there, and we absolutely have to go to the parks that evening, I will pay for a ticket upgrade at that time. Otherwise, I wont waste the money.

I. Definitely a show up and relax gal, but half of my party decided to add the day to their park ticket and hit MK for about 3-4 hours. They really loved getting started right away, riding a few FP rides (they did buy the extra day early so they could prebook FP) then returning to Grand Floridian to watch MK fireworks from there. The one person in the party who then had to leave GF and head "home" to POP Century was absolutely pooped, but had fun!

On our last trip in December 2013, we wanted to see the Christmas decorations at GF & wanted to check out the Poly our first night so we took the bus to the TTC. Then we took the monorail to GF then Poly. While we were on the boat from the Poly to TTC, we saw the fireworks! So, we got to experience some of the Magic & didn't have to burn a ticket!

This is another of those things that you used to be able to wait to decide on but now you really have to make up your mind in advance due to FP+

True, in a way. But I agree with some of the other posters who would just head to a park and "soak it all in." Nothing says you have to go ride a headliner that night. I'd probably eat a QS meal and/or snack if hungry wherever I felt like it (in the park, before the park at the resort) wander around a little, and ride a few of the less popular rides or rides with short end of the evening lines, if I felt like staying that late. But that's just me. I definitely can relax in a park. :-)

Edit: Oops, Sharona, those were your own words I quoted, lol.
Yeah back to the OP, you asked, and my opinion is I'd just wing it and go by how I felt.

I agree with relaxing. No matter how you look at it travel day is very tiring. I would head to the resort and have a nice dinner and to bed early to rest up for the week
