I would really like to do a Chinese restaurant whist at Disney but can only see 9 dragons in Epcot the closest to what I can find, however I wouldn't imagine this restaurant being as popular as 'be our guest' would I need ADR for 9 dragons or would they accept walk in's as I wouldn't really want to be tied down to a arrival time and credit card reservation if I don't make it, and only find out that I could of walked in

Is it very busy?

what time of year are you going?

Most ADR's are going to go quickly and they dont' have alot of room for walk ups

Near end of September this year,

I still have the ADR made it on 180 days mark but was wondering wether to cancel it so I g
Don't go worrying to run to the restaurant if I was able to walk in but I don't know lol

We are local and have always walked up to 9 Dragons. Its one of the least popular EPCOT spots. Last time we had 8 people and we were the only ones there. And I don't think that its bad, but I think because its not one of the more unique EPCOT offerings that its not so busy.

Never understood the negative reviews on Nine Dragons--that is probably my favorite meal in Epcot. Although it is not necessarily a hard reservation to get, I have never seen an 'empty' room anytime we have gone--and we have been there dozens of times. I would say you can book this up until about a month or two out, but I wouldn't count on a walk-up unless it is lunchtime.

We had two really bad meals there on two different trips over ten years ago and never went back. We thought the food borderline inedible. FWIW, I worked on the Lower East Side in NYC for years before having kids and I had easy access to some of the best authentic Chinese food in the country so that does affect how I view the food at 9 Dragons but my husband -who will eat almost anything with soy sauce on it-thought it was terrible also. My kids-probably 8 and 4 the first time- hated it as well.

Last time I ate there the only condiment the chef had access to was salt so he poured LOTS of it on everything so that all you could taste was salt.

And considering they had no one there service was pathetic.

I'd be willing to bet you could walk up and get seated. But if you have your heart set on this and/or it will cause problems of you don't get in, keep that ADR.

Current reviews of Nine Dragons indicate they have much improved. They also said it was easy to walk up and get in.
