Would CM TELL me if I had a code?

Last September we took our first family trip to WDW. When we got back, we knew we'd definetely be going again, but didn't plan on going until 2009 or 2010. Well, two weeks ago we decided spur of the moment to go back September 2007 (last year to go before our kids start Kindergarten).
Because until recently we had no plans to return so soon, IF I had received a code by email I would have no way of knowing--I would've just deleted it without even opening, and not given it a second thought. I get tons of "junk" email and just delete it right away.
Anyway, on the very slight chance I did get a code and didn't know it, when I booked our trip (through WDW, over the phone) would the CM have automatically told me about it? Or is it something you have to ask about? Should I call and ask about the code now? Do they "expire" after a certain amount of time goes by?
Thanks in advance!

Well--ignorant me! I should've read the code FAQ sticky first. I didn't realize the code was ONLY for your room; I thought it was for the whole package:flower3: .
In that case, we'll be better off going with free dining if it comes out (we'll save $892 on that vs. $464 with a 40% off code).

Jeez, I guess I should learn to do a bit more research before I post a question!

Plus, the 40% code had to be booked by March 15. So, that wouldn't be an option for you now anyway. I hope free dining comes your way soon! Have a great trip!

The 40% code had companion codes for room + tickets and room + tickets + dining. But you were still only getting 40% off room.

So your math remains correct.

CM's may or may not tell you if you have a code that applies to your vacation. There appears to be no standard for this. Ask everytime to be sure.
