My wife and I are spending 5 nights at the BCV'S in January, it will be our first trip home and our first trip without the kids. We're planning on trying a different restaurant each night, I have been reading all of your comments on this forum and already have some great ideas. My question to you all is what 5 restaurants would you suggest. We enjoy steak, seafood and Italian but will try just about anything. A good wine list is nice as well. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and we'll do a trip report when we return.

We had a great steak at Le Cellier at Epcot last year. We have eaten at many great restaurants at WDW including:

Spoodles - Great food, we really enjoy there flatbreads, and entrees a lot. We always go for a stroll on the Boardwalk after dinner. It is a very romantic place to stroll.

Jiko - Animal Kingdom Lodge We really loved this place for a quiet dinner and a stroll before or afterword around the lodge.

Rose & Crown Pub - Epcot/ World Showcase. We always eat here on each trip. It's the only restaurant that you can sit outside at in Epcot.

House of Blues - Downtown Disney. The food and service here is great. We have had there Jambalaya and Rosemary Cornbread and they are great.

The Brown Derby - MGM We had great steaks here in the past, and always have to have a piece of grapefruit cake for dessert.

We are going to be at WDW Dec. 11-21 and are going to eat at The Flying Fish and Shula's for the first time, so we are looking forward to both places.

we also enjoy artist point at wilderness lodge. agree about jiko, HoB, and le cellier. of course there is california grill at the contemp and for the ulitmate in dining--victoria and albert's at the grand floridian. happy eating! and welcome home!
:p

Steak, seafood and Italian, 5 restaurants......these are my choices:
Italian-Palio
Seafood/Steak-Flying Fish
Steak-Shulas
Seafood/Steak-Jiko
Seafood/Steak--tie between Artist Point and Cal Grill
IMHO, good Italian food is very lacking at WDW but we have gotten good fish entrees and/or steak dishes at all of the above. Portobello Yacht clulb is also ok for Italian food.

As the Shula's poster boy, my recommendation for steak is Shula's. It's pricey but worth every penny.

The places Id go to without the kids would be:

Narccooses @ GF, eat late catch the fireworks

CA Grille@Cont, eat late catch fireworks

Garden Grille @ Epcot, get rehitched to the old ball and chain

Pecos Bills @ MK, best burgers in the "world"

Ghiridellis @ DD, heck, no kids, skip dinner altogether!

Victoria and Alberts @ GF

Cindis royal table (I have boys)

You really should try Cape May buffet at the BC. It is seafood along with other foods and not to be missed! You won't be sorry!

Here are my top 5:

Narcoosees for steak and seafood
Le Cellier for steak
Palio for Italian
50's Primetime for a good time, and good homecooked meal
Cape May Cafe for a great buffet and all you can eat mussels, clams and shrimp!

Le Cellier for steak
Havent tried any seafood places but heard good reports about Coral Reef
We like Mama Melroses for Italian, they have wonderful unconventional pizza

Some other favs: Pecos Bill for great burger w/lots of fixins
San Angel Inn, very good Mexican
Looking forward to many trips"home" to try more places!

Well, here goes my two cents worth: Palio for Italian; Shula's for steak (if money's no object); Flying Fish for seafood; and, finally, you have to eat at Jiko and the California Grill. Enjoy! :)

Thanks to all for the help they all sound great, now the tough part ( fun part) Where to eat. Happy Holidays. Rob

Hello,

Some suggestions:

Le Cellier : Ate there for the first time last month. The Caeser salad was outstanding, and the filet was delicious. They also have very good breadsticks. Many people have raved about the cheddar cheese soup, but neither of us tried it, so I can't comment on it. This place does a very good business, and PS is definitely recommended.

Palio : I see many people have suggested it. We ate there about two years ago, and it was very good, much better than most of the other Italian places in WDW. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality.

Boma : This has become our favorite WDW restaurant since it's opening. We have now eaten dinner there about ten times, and love it. It's certainly not your typical buffet, but if you want to try something different ( with the safeguard of knowing there are always chicken and beef to fall back on), I would highly recommend Boma. PS is most like necessary here also.

Seafood : I've heard good comments about Cape May, but have never eaten there. Maybe this next trip. Also, Coral Reef is good, but last time we ate there, the prices were outlandish compared to the food. Lunch came to almost $90, for two adults, and that was without any alcoholic beverages. Cap'n Jacks is also a fun little seafood place, but the menu is limited, and PS are not available.

Other : Chef's De France is one of our regular stops, along with 'Ohana. California Grill is always a nice choice too.

For smaller meals, try Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club, great burgers and shakes, and ice cream dishes. Also , the Yakitori House in Japan at Epcot has a nice lunch menu.

Hope that helps,

Take care,

Bill

Make some time for treats and wine at France in Epcot. Incredibly yummy stuff!! And great atmosphere on the outside patio.

Maybe eat dinner at an Epcot restaurant and hit Le Patisserie for dessert.

Oh, and Mama Melrose's for Italian. It was pretty good, but pricey for the quality. Great caesar salad and excellent sangria. The pizzas are very good, too. I had a pasta entree that was very good, but again, overpriced. But, if you'll be at MGM for the evening, it's a good place.
