Would anyone recommend the Fish & Chips at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop?

Ours was def still hot enough by the time we got back, but they also had just made ours fresh, so it was straight from the fryer i.e. HOT. We may have been one of their first customers of the day. I seem to recall them putting our food in some sort of to go container, so it was covered. You could simply roll some napkins over the little dishette it normally comes in -- if its too enclosed for too long it will "steam" and that would not be a good thing.

If it is very busy at the Shoppe and there is already a line, I'm guessing your food will come straight out of the fryer as well. If it's not that busy and you see that they are trying to give you some that is already sitting there and staged, you might kindly ask them for some freshly made explaining that you want it to be as hot as possible because you are taking it back to BWI.

I hope you like it! I wouldn't say it's the best thing we've ever eaten but we really like it and love all things British. Getting the fish and chips is a DW tradition for us and we are BIG on tradition!:lmao:

Thank you for your reply.

Depending on what style of F&C you prefer this can be an excellent choice. Some folks don't care for the battering, and some don't care for the type of fish so your satisfaction may vary.

The biggest issue seems to be making sure that you get a freshly cooked batch, not one that's been under the heat lamp for a while. If you see a long line then this shouldn't be a problem. :teacher:

Ohh yum! This is by far, one of favorite quick service meals at the World! Yum.... DH loves it, too!

We've been frequent consumers of Harry Ramsden's fish & chips. However, since 2011 rolled in, we thought we noticed a change in quality - for the worse. To make a long story short, several in my party got sick in August & the only common food was the f&c from the Rose & Crown (pub area). It was not a pleasant evening for 3 rooms... :sad1: :sad2:

Harry Ramsden's is no longer involved in the Disney outlet. The name was removed from the kiosk several years ago, and the recipe has apparently changed. It was better back then but it isn't bad now. If you're on DDP you will be disappointed in the limited dessert (the only option is the shortbread cookie) unless you have children under 10 and can order the full portion with their credits, since there isn't a child's menu.

The fish used is cod.

These are good, but if you want REALLY good fish and chips head over to Cookes of Dublin at DTD.

Fresh, tasty and great sized portions. I've made this one a must do on every trip since I discovered it.

Cookes of Dublin is attached to Ragland Road on what used to be Pleasure Island. It is on the walkway from Pleasure Island to Disney Marketplace by the Riverboat.

I agree that the fish at Cooks of Dublin is far superior. We had to wait a while for our meal, as it is made to order. However, it was very good and will be a must go to stop for us every visit from now on! My husband got the Shrimp and Chips and it was a ton of food. He could not finish!

I have often wondered if this is different fish than served in Harbor House or other CS spots? Not a fan of those.

Everytime I am at Downtown Disney I eat at Earl of Sandwich and then Ghiradelli's, so I am never hungry for Cookes of Dublin.

The fish and chips at Yorkshire is a definite must do for our family every trip! I can't wait until we're back in the World to have them again!!!:cloud9:

The fish and chips are awesome and having Harps takes it to the next level:cool1:

Totally agree with that statement!! :thumbsup2 Its a must do for us each trip. Can't wait to get back in Decmeber and get some!

Another vote for the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. Lines can be long but we have started to go here for a bite to eat around an hour or so before Illuminations and have had no trouble getting a seat - it's a nice time to eat outside while everyone is rushing around grabbing spots for the fireworks

I wouldn't recommend them.......but then I'm from Yorkshire, so I know what the real thing tastes like!!!

I rarely eat fish- I do not like the fishy taste- but I had this 3 times on our last visit ( we just got back last week). Delicious! I'm even craving it now!

It's a must do for me, but probably due to nostalgia - I ate fish here for the first time ever on my first WDW trip with my parents when I was 10! I liked it then, and still do :thumbsup2

I went to the hot dog stand right near there once. There were so many seagulls there it was disgusting. And yes, one of them swooped down, smacked me in the face, stole my dog, and flew away with it. I'm not a fan of that area!!!! LOL

We ate there once and the fish was excellent, hot and crispy and tender, not greasy...wish I could say the same about the chips.

We tried the fish and chips last month for the first time, they were great! We live in Massachusetts so we do know good fish and chips, I was dissapointed that we had never tried them in the past. This is going to be a must do in Epcot going forward!!
