Oh Lisa...what a sweetie he is to be worrying about replying to all of thst mail!!! I can speak for my girls and myself and you can tell Michael....we do NOT expect a reply from him!!! Just seeing these pictures and hearig that he is doing so well is all we need!!! But you can tell Michael that he is quite a cutie and when I show his pic to my girls he will have quite a few "girlfriends" in Virginia!!!! I am so glad for ALL of you that he is doing so well!!

And just to let you all know, he has been very worried about responding to everyone that sent him a card, I told him no one expected him to write them all. But what we are going to do is I will be posting a message from him here on the boards, once he's well enough to put something together, because he really does want to thank everyone. He opened most I think the night before, and both my mother and stepfather think it REALLY helped with his attitude! And even my step-father, who isn't overly religious by any stretch, said "I think all those prayers helped his surgery go so well" And don't even get me started on the lessons about the kindness of strangers and all and the timing of all this, it will get me crying again! He still has some cards to open, too!
I think what I'll do when he's ready to post something to you all, I'll make a seperate thread, that way I'll be able to print any replies and fax it to them, without having all my ramblings in there.
Anyway, here are the pics, the first one was taken the day after his surgery and the other was 2 days.

Thanks so much for the update and photos, I have tears running down my face after reading this post and looking at the photos, how wonderful to see Micheal up and walking, and to hear his is coming home so soon after his surgery. I will share this wonderful news with my prayer partners.

Thank you, everyone. I know, without a doubt, you all made a HUGE difference in his surgery! Michael just LOVED opening the cards and seeing where they were from and as my step-father said, it made a BIG difference in his attitude going into the surgery. And the operation and recovery have just gone so well and smoothly, I know it's because of all the prayers that have been said around the country, and the world! (even though he gets international mail from relatives in Denmark, he was VERY excited over the few countries that sent mail from the DIS) And what wonderful lessons to learn at a time of war. I'm glad he can see all this good and love in people, strangers, from all walks of life. I think it says a lot about a person how you nice you are to strangers. I think he's learned something about all of you, that's for sure!

WOW! He looks great! Tell him to do what he's told, and everything will continue to work out. So glad that we were able to "help"!

He went home yesterday! (Monday) He's glad to be home and doing great, all things considering. He is still pretty uncomfortable, but can get up by himself now, can walk a little by himself (but my mom won't let him, if he were to fall it would be very bad news) and is going a pretty long time between pain medication. He spends a great deal of time in their family room, because the sofa reclines and it's a comfortable position for him. This picture was taken before they went home.
