This just came to mind. Would a Disney themed restaurant work with character meet as well? This type of restaurant would be in various cities and not in Disney word or Disneyland. This would give other people a taste of Disney who can’t get over to the parks. I think this would work being that Disney would not open too many. Like open in New York, Chicago, Seattle, and Toronto to start. Your thougts?

I like it....of course, in NY everything would be sticky and dirty....:D:-)

(btw...i'm from NY)

No. I do not think they should do this, aside from the limited time special events like the Saks/Snow White events listed above.

People can get their Disney fix elsewhere in other ways. Disney on Ice travels. Disney Junior Dance Party travels (with VIP meet & greets available which I find surprising.)

I do not think they should enter the restaurant business in other cities.

If you want to dine with characters outside of WDW or DLR, you’ll have to settle for Chuck E. Cheese.

Seems like a great way to diminish their brand and give the public a way to skip a much more expensive vacation to their properties. It’s shooting themselves in their foot and then shooting their other foot too.:crutches:

I’m not saying the idea is bad. But it is the opposite of good. :smooth:

Dreamworks had some awesome character packages at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville couple years ago. We met lots of characters from Shrek, Kongfu Panda, and Madagascar. We had breakfast with Shrek and Fiona. Paraded with all the characters. There was gingerbread house decorating with Fiona. DS did a Kongfu training lesson with Pho. It was super fun for us even if it was not Disney. Not sure if this is still offered, though.

Harrods (famous department store in London) actually had a whole Disney department which included Disney Store with exclusive products, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and a Disney themed restaurant (allegedly the first outside the parks). It was lovely but unfortunately closed last year.

Not to thread jack, but as soon as I saw your subject line I thougt of "Animators Palate"- always seemed like a perfect fit for one of the WDW parks - especially DHS-

Guess one can always dream !
