We use USBank. But, if you go to the Visa Buxx web site, you'll see other banks/institutions listed there as well. I set this account up for my daughter several years ago, when she needed to have access to $$ while on a summer marching band trip. Works slick. You pre-load it. They get a card with their name on it that is like a credit/debit card, and can be used at ATMs to get cash (tho there is a charge for that). She was able to use it at stores and fast food restaurants without difficulty. The account is online, and you, as the adult, will set up your own password (and the kid does their own password, as well, after their card arrives in the mail). I was able to log on, see where she spent the $, as often as I cared to. And, replenish the amount, when funds were getting low. There is plenty of info about visa buxx on the site. They are only allowed to use the dollar amount that exists in the account. And, the kid CAN call in to get a balance update, if needed (ie, not near their computer). This worked so slick for her trip, that I ended up using it to pay her allowance--I have it set up automatically. And, you, as the adult, can go in and 'suspend' the account, if you feel the need. It worked so well for her, that I ended up setting up accounts for my college boys as well--the visa buxx made it easy for me to put money in their hands with the click of my computer key, when unexpected expenses came up. When my sons were in their teens, I did set up checking accounts for them. I had to be listed for the account, as well. This is far more convenient. You just have to get her to agree to some kind of accounting system to log her purchases against her balance, so she learns to budget. Good luck.
