I just looked at Travelocity and they are having a special for my cruise I have already booked through DCL. Basically it is the same exact cruise (Western 3/11/06) for the same exact price, but with a $100 onboard credit. The only problem is that through DCL I have booked the transportation, which I would have to do separately if I change my reservation to Travelocity. However, after obsessively reading these boards, it sounds like there are several independent transportation companies that may be the same cost (if not less expensive) as DCL transportation...

What do you experts suggest I do? Cancel my reservation with DCL and rebook with Travelocity to get the onboard credit? Or could I approach DCL to see if they will offer the same credit? This is my first cruise ever, so I'm not sure what to do

fIRST IF YOU BELONG TO SAMS CLUB OR COSTCO TRY THEM MUCH CHEAPER. THEN TRY dREAMS UNLIMITED OR ALL SEASONS. THEY ALSO DO REBATES AND DO A LOT OF DISNEY CRUISES. oNE TIME SAMS CLUB SAVED US OUVER $500.00 AND WE HAD THE DISNEY TRANSPORTATION. MOST TRAVEY AGENCY JUST TAKE OVER YOUR BOOKING YOU RETAIN EVERYTHING ROOM ECT.

You could call DCL and see. They worse they can say is no. Otherwise I would rebook for the credit. I just did a thread about travel insurance. For our 3 day Wonder in September it is going to cost $81. And this is with the same company DCL uses. I normally check around with several agencies online prior to booking a cruise. I try to find the best price out there. The cruise line can offer any incentive at any time thru them or with the agencies.

Remember if you cancel and rebook you'll go to the back of the line regarding first seating. If you have it booked now, you might not when you finish. Also, you may not get the same cabin, as I don't know how fast DCL would release that inventory.

When you transfer your resie from DCL to a TA you do not have to cancel your original booking. You just give the resie number to the TA & they will call DCL to take it over. Very simple!
