Worth getting up at 3:00am?

Hi all,

We are getting close to our 60 days plus 10. We are staying at the BWI. We are in the Pacific Time Zone, so it is "worth it" to get up at 3:00 am to make reservations? Or does that not really give you much of an advantage.

(Also, what are the best apps to secure a reservation after the fact?)

How many days you're staying, and which restaurants you want to eat at, will have an impact on the answer to this question.

To me, nope. We make day of ADRs and have never had a problem finding somewhere to eat. That might not be at the most wanted places but it's been our experiences that some of those (BOG I'm looking at you) are not all they are hyped up to be and the not so popular ones can be pretty good (Spice Road tables I'm looking at you). If you aren't picky about where you eat and don't have to have the "must haves" you should have no problems getting somewhere to eat. I've gotten California Grill, BOG, the one in Canada (can't remember the name) and even Olga's Canteen all day of. Heck, I got Victoria and Alberts a week out once.

No reason to get up that early to make ADR's. People can cancel up to the day before their reservations, so likely you will be able to find some closer to the time of your trip.

We are staying 6 days, five days in park. This is our first time as a family and I haven't been to the DW in 14 years. So, we are probably trying to get "sought after" restaurants. My research has focused me on SciFi Diner, 50,'s prime time, Be our Guest, Liberty Tree, Teppan Edo, Via Napoli, Biergarten, Tusker House, Tiffins, Ohana, Boma....etc).

How many days you're staying, and which restaurants you want to eat at, will have an impact on the answer to this question.

Given your list of restaurants, yes you will need to get up that early and prioritize your ADR booking by difficulty, not by order.

I would recommend it with your list!

They can* open at 5:45 now. I was finished with all my reservations before 6:00 on Saturday.

*The website says they may open then. On my ADR day in July, no reservations opened until 6:00 on the dot. When I booked ADRs on Saturday for my October trip, all reservations were available when I got up at 5:45.

Welp. I miscounted the days apparently, so I missed the 2:45/3:00 am torture chamber. I did get somewhat lucky. Got a BOG, Teppan Edo, 50's Prime Time, Tusker House with no problems. I did sign up for mousewatchers to try to snag an Ohana and a SciFi Diner reservation.
