Was wondering if its worth doing disney for 1 week only.

As im currently off work, I thought it would be nice to getaway for a short time. Dh is still seeing if he can wangle a week off work

Were looking at going possible November,(13th onwards) have sort of got accmadation in the pipeline, and have found a great site for cheap last minute flights(which is what it would have to be being last minute).Just thought I would pack the suitcases, that way we could book very last minute.

So is it worth doing for a week??, I was looking at squeezing Universal/IOA as well as disney, were pretty okay on getting round the parks and rides quickly due to having the GAC pass for DS and DH, so really time isnt a factor for us.Okay questions.

Is there a 2 or 3 day hopper?
Whats the weather like?
Will we need sweaters/long trousers.

I know at the moment this is pie in the sky, as usually when I try to plan anything just lately things back fire, but im feeling so down at present, i thought a dose of the mouse would help!!!
Also our DD has never been able to go, due to heart problems, but is now fit to fly, I thought this would be a nice surprise for her and DS, as I wont tell them till the day.

Am I mad???????

No, absolutely not!

To answer a couple of your questions (IMHO ;) )

Yes, it is worth doing Disney for 'only' one week. I've taken a couple of trips of a week, and also spent a week, or less, in WDW out of our two-week holidays - if you've been before and can target the things you want to do in your limited time, it's fine. Let's face it, a week is so much better than no time at all, isn't it? ;)

I don't think there is anything less than a 4 day hopper pass for WDW. I may be out of date on this, but I thought that anything less than 4 days did not allow hopping. Hopefully someone else can clarify this.

You may well need a sweater and long trousers for the evenings in November, but I think the daytime temperatures are usually okay for shorts and tee shirts. We've never been there later than the very beginning of November, and that was beautiful weather. When we went once in late December / January, however, we were really unlucky and froze!

I can't imagine how excited your DD and DS would be!

It's the best pick me up ever.

We went in June for 4 days, didn't plan on doing very much, and it was the best 4 days this year.

The "Disney Experience" seems to give you that fantastic energy boost which no other place does.

Jules - no you are definitely not mad.

If you were first time visitors going in peak holdiay time with a lot of queuing it would be mad BUT you have been before and know what you do and don't like, you would have GAC's and November is allegedly a quiet time (I hope so that is partly why we have chosen it). We are planning of t-shirts/shorts for days (with a jumper in the car just in case) and long sleeved T's/ lightweight fleeces for evenings.

I hope you do manage to pull it off, it would do you good to get away from the stress for a dose of the mouse.

Definitely worth it! I had a week's trip last year and had a WONDERFUL time :) ! We planned it very carefully - didn't take long to plan but since it was a much shorter trip than we were used to, we needed a preworked out plan to fit in as much as possible and make the very most of our time - in fact I enjoyed it so much I'm fitting in another trip for a week soon!

I normally go for a week. Last year we did Seaworld, Magic Kingdom, MGM, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom & both Universal parks in a week with no problems at all. We even got a day in at the beach! We were lucky as there were no queues whatsoever so we were getting through 2 parks on some days :D

I would do disney for 1 week, its better than nothing, go for it.
Nothing better than a dose of the mouse himself.

Happy planning.

Beth

P,s Squeeze me in your suitcase please? lol.

mad????

yes but i am too & would do a week at the drop of an hat if offered.

Go for it- Especially if its your DD's chance to go.

Have a great time I'm sure you will.

I've done a 5 night trip...and I thought that was definitely still worth it - so go for it! :)

Jules

Go for it !

Having done late November a couple of times I'd definitely recommend long trousers and sweaters for evenings and chillier days at the parks ( just in case ). The weather can vary from very nice to quite cool!!

Don't know about 2-3 day hopper tickets but why not go for the single day ticket....you get $5 off your next visit to a WDW park if you go in the next 3 days. There's also a good deal on for IOA/US tickets....you can buy a 7 day ticket for both parks for about £67.

.............As for accomodation that should be easy enough at that time, you'll be there the week before Thanksgiving so it should be really quiet ( we tend to find just about all rides etc are walk-ons ...even Spiderman/ TOT ).

If there's any help I can offer let me know

Oh I'd do a week for sure obviously you just need to choose carefully what you want to cover in a week.

This sounds very exciting Jules BTW I've found the weather gorgeous at that time of the year - warm sunny days and cool sunny mornings with cool evenings.

Can't wait to hear if you can pull this off :sunny:

Sam, Im already packed LOL!!!

I think it now hinges on whether DH can get the time off work( I had a quiet word in the ear of the ladys husband who sorts DH working day, so heres hoping!)

I know I wouldnt have any trouble with school and college, in respect of DS/DD, and seeing as im signed off work that doesnt apply.

I hope I can pull this off, but im not going to say anything to the kids just incase Dh cant get time off.

Spose we could always go without DH LOL:earseek:
