hi all,

so we leave in a week for our first ever DL visit... we have pre-booked the Desert Inn & Suites on South Harbor across from the pedestrian entry to DLR... $175.00/night for a 2 x room suite, however there are only 3 of us staying there...

i just saw that the PPH has rooms avail for our nights (nov 6-8) for $175.00/night - we are only there for 2 nights, no car, and we're coming into DLR via the DLR express bus, so i'm wondering... should we keep our original reservation, or change it up for an on-site hotel.

are there any freebies or perks or bonuses associated with staying onsite?

You would get a nicer room and a further walk if you switch.

When exactly will you be at the resort? It sounds like you will get there later on Sunday and leave Tuesday? Is this correct? Will you be in the park Sun, Mon and Tue?

Did you see if they have any non suites available and what that might cost? That might save you some money.

I've never stayed at PPH, but alot of people here really like it, and it is the same price, hummm, that's a hard call. As for perks, you might get an extra MM if the days allow, and not sure if they are still giving out the 2 fastpasses to guests, early entry to DCA to get your WOC fastpass, nighttime bedtime stories on your tv by the princesses (we loved this), you get to use the GCH entrance to DCA, free delivery of the things you buy at the parks back to your hotel room, charging things to your room, trying to think of what else.....

our flight arrives at 6am sunday, so probably enter the parks around 8am. we will be at the parks til closing on sunday, all day monday, and all day tuesday. we leave on a flight at 9pm tuesday night, so although we will check out of our hotel on the tuesday morning, we have 3 day hopper passes so we will be in the parks until approx 4.30pm, then we'll leave for the airport...

we had been previously told that staying onsite gave you tix to Mickey's ToonTown Madness... not sure whether saving the $80 tax and resort fees from the other venue is worth the longer walk and nicer room of staying onsite...

Right now, a "deluxe" room at DI&S for your dates is $104 a night. I think if I were you, I would definitely be cancelling that reservation and either moving to PPH for the same price, or moving to a smaller room at DI&S for $70 less a night.

Have fun!

The PPH rate quoted does not include the Anaheim room tax. It will be added in when you book. If you do keep your DI&S reservation, you can ask to have the parking fees waived since you won't have a car. That said, your total rates at both places should be the same.

That comes with packages.

I'd probably stay with what you have. Either way you are only getting a Morning Magic on Tuesday. It might be nice to have the kid in a seperate room.

The other benefits you would get staying onsite are quite trivial. Character Calls, getting into the DCA thourgh the GCH 15 minutes early. It's going to be slow on the Monday and Tuesday.

Make sure you see F! on Sunday the only night it's scheduled.

yeah, while we love the idea of staying onsite, (and yes, i know that the rates quoted don't include the tax etc) but i think the shorter walk & the extra space available for the 3 of us (all adults) in the suite at DI&S is worth the extra dollars to us rather than staying (this time anyways) at the PPH.

i think the perks are great, but not enough to make up for that really short walk, and changing our reservations so close to the actual date :)

thanks for your help all

We are at the DI&S right now, and that walk is heaven after a long day at the parks! I would stay where you're at.

awesome!!! ... thanks for the positive reinforcement.

i really, really didn't want to cancel the reservation if we didn't have to. glad to know that now we will be sticking with our original res :)

I really enjoyed our Stay at DI&S a couple of weeks ago. It was nice that we could "run" back to the hotel in the late afternoon for a quick break, grabing our jackets, etc.
