Worst WDW Food Experience

I've found the quick service places at MK (Pinocchio Haus and Pecos Bills especially) to be mediocre to poor.

While the meals weren't bad at Coral Reef, Chefs de France, and Tutto Itallia, they were underwhelming, so much that I have no desire to go back to either (I found Tony's better than both Coral Reef and Tutto Itallia honestly, and Tony's gets consistent negative reviews). I would have gone back to Chefs if they still had Remy, because while my lunch was uninspiring, there were some other items out party ordered that looked quite good. But without Remy, there's not any motivation for me to give them another try quite honestly.

And I've had hit or miss experiences at every resort quick service I've been to...from Poly to GF to POR to CBR. I've found the food to be either fantastic to 'meh' to flat out gross. But I'm much more inclined to be kind to QS places at the resorts, because I know I can always go to the pool and get a beer or wine or fruity adult beverage after :) .

Wow, a lot of Chef Mickey's haters. While I agree the food is not amazing, it's the Characters we really went for. Now that my kids are older, I no longer feel the need to book this trip; it served it's purpose.:confused3

Last month we had our worst ever WDW Food Experience at Whispering Canyon Cafe. It started well, seated 2 mins after arrival and our Server seemed fun and into the 'schtick'. I ordered the Platter and pretty much every meat was dry and not edible, with the pork the only one I considered good to go (but bland). I asked for sauce and it took over 30 mins to get sauce. Obviously the pork was now cold and as you can probably guess, it took a long time to get more pork as well. For All-You-Care-to-Eat, they made it near impossible to get more. Wife waited 20 mins for a soft drink refill - really? Total visit time for 2 people was over 100 minutes, probaby twice what I have every spent at a sit down meal (except CG where we watched fireworks). The Manager (and I use that term lightly), spent the entire time we were there, cleaning tables to get people in faster - hardly what she was getting paid for. :furious:

Mama Melrose! Food came out cold after we waited forever for it. It was also the worst service we have ever had at a Disney restaurant! The food had no flavor either.

I must have very low standards, or extremely good luck, as I cannot think of a single Disney meal that was truly bad. We try to choose new restaurants every trip, with the exception of a couple of favorites, but overall we've been pretty happy with every meal -- food-wise, that is. We had a rude hostess at Coral Reef once, and one of the CRT photographers argued with me when I didn't want the picture that came with the meal. Neither of those were bad enough to keep us from going back.

I could not agree more! I have never walked away completely grossed out by any means! We had a so-so experience at Chefs de france (bad wine, and he was so confused when we asked him to take it back. but, please. I know bad wine), and Tony's is just not good enough for the location (but, we will probably go back! ha!). But, other than that, everything else has been such a pleasure. Maybe I have low expectations?

I have to agree, haven't had really anything really bad. I'm not a picky eater.
I do however dislike most Quick service.
Maybe once I got steak that wasn't cooked as I like it.
There are a lot of TS we haven't tried in Epcot due to reviews.
We haven't eaten at 9 dragons, anything in Italy except drinks :P, haven't eaten anything in Mexico or Coral reef.
Wish Coral Reef would get a new menu, I always check and it seems like it never changes, because i would like to try it

T-Rex this past February. 3 of us ordered steaks that we sent back TWICE because they were raw inside. Seriously, seared on the outside and completely raw inside.....and we ordered them medium. After the 2nd one we had them bring us burgers instead. Also, we were there a loooooong time due to the kitchen errors.

It's a tie... for last place
Nine Dragons
Tony's

both basically inedible

And barely placing ahead of those two LeCellier, edible but not that good, over priced and hideously horrid service! (And I gave this rip off a couple of chances, it blew it repeatedly! RUN!)

We mostly enjoy the food at WDW both CS and TS. I am very pro active but also very polite when something is wrong with our food and hope others would let someone know if there is a problem with food or service.

One that really stands out is dinner at Kona. My steak was so tough I literally was unable to chew it. I let the server know that I have a medical issue with chewing and she recommended that particular dish. I wasn't upset at all just asked if I could try something else. She disappeared for 20 minutes and finally appeared with a menu. I ordered the noodle dish. It was very clear she was upset with me. When she brought my food she sat it down hard on the table. When we paid our bill her tip amount reflected how rude she had been to us. She picked up the receipt and said "is that all you are tipping? You're kidding? I picked up the receipt and headed to the podium. The manager was shocked and very apologetic.

Splitsville I had a squashed fly in my burger which they refused to refund and tried to tell me it was part of the Florida experience I needed to relax. I may be British but not that naive. We take food standards very seriously in the UK. Also our glasses were dirty and so was the cutlery. I would sooner kiss a Wookie than set foot in that place again.

Overall resort?...T-Rex...long ait, loud, poor service, school cafeteria grade food for high prices. One of my worst dining experiences ever.

In a park?...ABC Commissary. Disgusting food.

Other lousy experiences? Coral Reef, Lotus Blossom, Prime Time, ...

Bongos Cuban Cafe, frijoles and corn on the cob served with mayo and lime. approximately 18 hours later, the illness began. 24 hours later, I was violently ill with a high fever.

Crystal Palace is also on my never-again list. Same trip two years ago, There was nothing redeemable about the experience, even the characters were rushed. The worst part was the quality of the food. Even the mixed greens were inedible.

We have had good luck and have been to most of the very much hated that were listed already. Never any issue at ABC or even Chef Mickey. Is it the best food? No. But no issues eating it. Service wise, I think the worst has been at both Rainforest Cafe's (DS in January and AK 2 weeks ago). No sense of urgency and very slow with any requests. Very disappointed. I am not surprised the one that is 30 minutes from us is closing. I didn't like it up here and shouldn't have done in Disney.

yep it's pretty much the "Rainforest" standard service. Sadly I have eaten at them in a bunch of locations. Apparently they assume that having a thunderstorm will allow you to forget you have no service. LOL! Their service chain wide is pathetic! (Do they kill a cow everytime they make a hamburger? And have then ever figured out that people might buy MORE drinks if a waiter ever came by to take an order???)

Okay, yeah. No. I would have flipped out. Did you call the Health Department? Take any photos? Send a letter to Disney? Topple over tables? (Kidding about the tables. Sort of. )

"Part of the Florida experience?" Oh ha ha, that's really funny. I would have told him/her/them, "Hey, that's funny! Let's see if being shut down by the health department is part of the Florida experience! Let's see if you losing your job, smart mouth, is part of YOUR Florida experience!" and started making calls.

What a dreadful thing.

I shouldn't read these threads. I have had food poisoning on several occasions, so I am very skittish anyway. Reading some of this stuff makes me :crazy2: a little.

We have had good luck, I guess. Some better than others, but as others have said, nothing Bongos Cuban Cafe horrific, or Splitsville bad.

Thanks. I call the place Splatsville now lol. You know I didn't take a photo but I wish I had! I did complain to Disney but never heard a thing. Here in the UK it is taken more seriously. I have a comprimised immune system plus an autoimmune digestive disorder which if food hygene is not top notch can leave me a one way ticket to the ER room. Earlier in the year I was in hospital for nearly a month on a feed tube. No your fly sir is not part of my vacation experience! Also the salad was dirty. This place is unclean. It should be investigated I told Disney so.

The only place I really didn't enjoy was Contempo Cafe and it wasn't because of the food. It was more the atmosphere. It was very busy and very loud, just not what you would want for a nice, relaxing dinner. I won't go back again, just because of how awkward it made me feel in there. Not a huge fan.
