:wave2: Ok school me... :teacher: What is (IYO) the worst time to board the Wonder? I've seen if u wait until 11 or 12noon, that the lines are terrible. Should I go early(what time?) or later (what time?) THANKS IN ADVANCE....UR ALL SO GREAT WITH INFO!! :wizard:

 Only 2 days left until a WONDERful cruise!!! :Pinkbounc

I think we're on the Wonder together...02/03/05? We'll be there at around 12:30-1pm. Last time we were on Disney we got there at 3pm and just walked on...

We just got back from our first wonder cruise this Sunday. We got there around 11:00 or so. We hung out for a while and signed up my daughter for my club - the lines were long then. We actually waited in the waiting room until later, after 12, and then the line was short and moving really fast. Some people waited for an hour in line before boarding, which I felt wouldn't be worth it for my family, anyway. They move people quickly, that's the nice thing :)

i'm sure the lines are shorter after 3pm but i want to enjoy as much of my first day as possible on board the ship- :) i plan on being there by 11am just to enjoy the ambiance

If I am getting to board one of the DCL ship there is no worse time to board. I am taking a Disney cruise !! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

The line are longest first thing but the boarding process is very well organized. I didn't really even notice the wait , there was too much going on around me and I was not concentrating on the time. But then again , maybe that is just me and my excitement over being there rather than here.

You're all getting the answer wrong.

The worst time to board would be when the boat has already left.
:boat:

We're sailing this Thurs. too!!
We like boarding early because we can have a leisurely lunch and then wander around the ship. But remember that your stateroom may not be ready until 1 or 1:30, so you will be hauling your day bag around. But if you want spa and Palo ressies, early is good.
If you come later, there will be no line and there will still be plenty of food.
It pretty much depends on your preference. We like to start our trip as early as possible, although if we were at Disney World beforehand, we might spend more time at the parks and board the ship later.

inkkognito.....:cool2: I guess we'll see you guys at 1pm at the Port!

We boarded at 5PM - through the bottom of the ship, no embarkation photo for us. It was a pretty bad time!

Mickeyboat-how did you manage that?

If you are taking DCL trans. from one of the resorts, what time do you generally arrive at the port.

The buses from WDW usually get there between noon and one, I think. I think they tell you to be at the pick-up point before 11, and it takes an hour and change (depending on traffic and such) to get to the Port.

As yet, we haven't had problems getting into Palo's. The spa and cabana stuff goes quickly, but if you're on this board for tips, you'll beat all the poor unenlightened fools to the reservation desks.

We got to the terminal about 40 minutes before boarding started. Because we had no desire to wait in line, we spent 40 minutes taking pictures of the model, the kids with Mickey and Snow White and watching cartoons.

When the ship opened, the line was several hundred people long. The people at the beginning of the line had been there since we arrived.

After about 15 minutes of boarding we got into a short and swiftly moving line and were onboard in five minutes.

So, about what time would you need to be in line if you wanted to be one of the first 50 or so, people on board?

Flight was delayed due to fog. (I know, I learned my lesson, fly down the night before). After 4 hours in an airport with 3 and 4 year old kids, a foot-race in Atlanta to catch a connection for which we were on stand-by (and for which I had to beg and cry to get), we got off the plane at MCO at 4PM. The DCL rep RAN us through the airport and on to the DCL bus. We were the only people on the bus. We were the last people to board (sans luggage, too). It was probably a good thing we booked air through DCL, or I doubt we would have made it at all. I had contacted DCL during the delay and let them know about our situation. I think a few strings were pulled to get us on the flight in Atlanta - we were told it was already over-booked.

Even after all that drama, we had a wonderful time. Who needs underwear?

:rotfl: Ha ha ha...that's what I thought too! :rotfl2:

The embarkation process for my 12/11/04 cruise was very stressful mostly due to a rude CM and somewhat due to the large crowds. I'm seriously considering arriving later and boarding later the next time around. Maybe arrive around 1:00 to avoid the crowds?

Mickeyboat-

Did you mean that you went the whole cruise without your luggage? What did you do? :earseek:

OMG! How stressful would that be!?!?

When did your luggage catch up with you?
