I would never do it but that tattoo cracks me up everytime I see it.

My ex has the worst tatoo. He had my name on his ankle, while divorcing he had it covered with a big VOID in red. Pee'd me off to no end that it was so out in the open for the kids to see. If I hadn't been so mad, I would have laughed my head off he was so stupid to wear that around for the rest of his life!

It is amazing how many BAD tattoos there are out there. Especially considering how many GREAT artist there are in the tattoo world. do NOT get a tattoo in your buddy's garage. Any REAL and GOOD tattoo artist works out of a shop. do not try and get a Discount tattoo. GOOD work costs GOOD money. Cheap tattoos usually = BAD tattoos. Do NOT get something off of a wall, you are the 800th person at that shop to get the same tattoo. They will design you a CUSTOM tattoo for the same price, be creative and give the tattoo artist some input, and let him come up with something great and custom that no one else has, just my two cents. It has all been said before, but i think its worth repeating. ALSO PLEASE TRIPLE CHECK SPELLING !! use the internet, check dictionary's, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you know the correct spelling, there is NOTHING worse than a tattoo with letters missing or that is misspelled. although it does make for a good laugh for the rest of us !! haha

One of the tats my brother has is pretty bad. Granted, he got it in high school by his BFF. They both decided they would tattoo each other with chain links around their ankles. No idea why, just that's what they were going to do. So my brother is up first. He crosses his leg over his knee so his friend could work on it. Well, after about half a dozen links, they realize they weren't going around the ankle....they were going up the leg. So now he has 6 chain links just sitting on his ankle/leg. I just shake my head every time I see it.

I worked with a woman years ago who had tattoed the word Shorty, her nickname, on her arm herself so it was very uneven and just really terrible looking. It always made me think of a prison tattoo, which it may well have been.

yes there is actually is. you are obviously not a tattoo person, so for you maybe not. but some of us love tattoos and some of the BEST artists in the world are tattoo artists. I have some things in my life i hold so dear to me, i have absolutely no doubt that i will cherish them for the rest of my life. for some people its a scary thing, "this will be on me for the rest of my life?!! ' for me its the exact opposite i suppose, I say PROUDLY " THESE WILL BE WITH ME THE REST OF MY LIFE"

here are a few links of tattoos that are on par with any oil painting out there. the level of skill that it takes to create these on a living breathing person is off the charts. some of these look like photographs they are so good.

you dont have to have a tattoo to appreciate them, its just plain good art ! they sure are beautiful, and there are tens of thousands more just like them, u just have to dig around. EXPECT AND DEMAND more out of your tattoo artist. dont just walk in and take the first guy that is free to tattoo, do some research and find an artist who is capable of this caliber of work. Dont settle for a tattoo of TAZ spinning around in a dust circle, or a bad rose with an ex lovers name, or a tribal half moon half sun, you can do better !! get something that makes peoples jaw drop !

I suppose there is SOMEONE out there who thinks those are ugly, but i will NEVER agree, to me they are works of art, true masterpieces.

I have many tattoos, but i am not a criminal, i have never been to jail, i am not a thug, I just simply LOVE the art and beauty of tattoos. Please think before you judge people with tattoos, i am just a normal person who happens to like art, i just happen to keep my art with me permanently. I know a lot of people see someone who is heavily tattooed and they want to cross the street just so they don't have to be near them, try talking to them instead and you just mind find they are absolutely NO different than you. I am a person with feelings and emotions just like you, Judge me for what i do, not what i look like please. who knows, you might even find you like me ! thanks for listening !

my tattoo is in honor of my cancer journey. that's never going to leave me, ever. heck, neither are the bunches of scars i have from it either. but, ymmv.

those last tattoos are gorgeous, especially the detail in the child one.

Well prison tattoos are normally just in black, so no, I bet someone paid for that piece of...work. Work like this demonstrates the principle that you should check out an artist's work BEFORE you agree to get a tattoo from them. I'm glad I haven't seen anything that bad IRL, because I don't know if I could be polite about it.

I know that tattoo! Paul Acker (the tattoo artist) is one of the most talented artists I have ever seen.

I agree with everything you said. As a tattooed female, I get a lot of crap all the time about my tattoos. Some people want to hang their art on their walls, I'd rather carry my art with me everywhere
