Worst Service in WDW? Your thoughts

Far and away, the absolute worst service we get is at San Angel Inn. On several occasions it has been just awful.

Does anyone else have a worst service location?

Our worst service was at Artist Point. Andre, our server, basically hurried us through our dinner, even though the place was practically empty. Also, DH sent his salmon back because it was very undercooked(he had ordered it more well done). He had to send it back a second time because it still wasn't cooked enough.
I know not all of these things are in the server's control, but he could have made our dining experience there much better than it was.
We will not be going back there on future trips.

The worst service we've ever had was at Chef Mickey's. We waited 45 minutes for our PS, which was already a late one. Our server disappeared after seating us & when we did see him, we couldn't flag him down. The characters ignored us - even though we were right next to the steps they were taking to the upper level. The food was dried out - what was actually on the line.

We'd never do this one again - too many other places we enjoy.

but our worst service was Alfredo's in Italy in EPCOT.
We did not also care for the food. We have had poor service
at other places too but have given them another chance because
we like the food, not Alfredo's. BUT, I would never tell anyone
not to go there, everyone has their own opinion. We have had
bad service also at San Angel but we love the food so we return.

How about Capt Jack's? Last February my seafood pasta came buried in a cold, congealed orange sauce that looked like Capt Jack himself threw up on it after one too many lagers. It was our fault: the server, a charming woman with a great sense of humor, had warned us, "If I were you guys, I'd stick to appetizers tonight...."

We LOVE San Angel but literally the last three times we have gone, the service was absolutely horrific. The server ignored us for a larger party, refills were non-existent, etc.....that was the first time in my life I have left a quarter for a tip.

I have looked back through my trip notes of our last several trips to WDW (6 trips going back to Oct 2000) and I don't have any mention of really "bad" service.

That being said, probably the worst service we received was at Portobello Yacht Club, where the waiter did not seem to be making any real effort to make the meal special. We have also had some issues at both Cal Grill and Flying Fish with the pacing of the meals (loooong time between apps and entrees).

All things considered, however, we have generally had pretty good to great service during our dining experiences at WDW.

I noted the leisurely service at our last two trips to the CG and Citricos too. But the service was so outstanding - especially at Citricos - that it reminded me that many upscale restaurants generally space out courses. I like to dawdle over drinks and wine, and it's a relief to eat slowly after feelign hustled at a lot of the buffet breakfasts and dinners.

By far our worst experiences have been at Alfredo's and Fultons. However, we haven't been to either in perhaps 6-8 years so maybe it's improved. But the experiences were so bad, we'll never know. Too many other great spots to go and service is such a strength at most places at WDW that we just aren't willing to risk it.

We also had fabulous service at our last trip to Citricos. Among other things, the pacing was just right for such an upscale dining experience. However, the incidents we suffered at CG and FF went beyond even that, to the point of annoyance.

Every place has an off day or an off wait staff and we had just that for breakfast in December at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

I was really looking forward to this meal too because we'd had such good service there back in 2001.

To start off, we were late. My fault. I should have probably cancelled, but I didn't. There was a huge wait to get in, even with a PS. 30 minutes and I was starving.

We finally get a seat and our waiter has no personality whatsoever (meanwhile there were all sorts of fun goings on around us -- a grown up "birthday boy" and his friends having to ride around the restaurant, another table where the dad got lassoed, etc). Since I have food allergies, I had to see the chef.

I have almost always had positive experiences with the chefs at WDW. Here was the exception. I told him what I could and could not eat and what I wanted. His response, "You should have called ahead."

My response, "We did."

Should have embarrassed the heck of him with that reply, but it didn't. Instead I felt slighted.

We had to wait quite a while for breakfast which was only so-so. I was envious of everyone else there who seemed to be having a great time.

In a nutshell, it will be a while before we go back there.

Ours was last year at Jiko. Just me and dd14. We were dining early-thankfully not too many other diners there to witness this. DD14 ordered the filet over mac (medium well). She is kinda shy sometimes. The waiter did not give her a steak knife (as we are used to when the food is presented at the table) and so she thought since this was supposed to be an upscale establishment, the steak would be very tender, and she tried to use the bread knife to cut her steak. She was not making any comments. The waiter walked over, grabbed her plate WITHOUT ASKING, and proceeded to cut her entire steak up with a steak knife he brought with him but did not leave. She was totally mortified. He treated her like she was 3 and needed assistance. I never had time to flag him down to ASK for a steak knife, nor did dd14 want me to cut her steak up for her! She was trying hard not to cry and just wanted to leave without eating. I got her calmed down (with jokes) and she did eat.

I spoke with the manager on the way out.......of course he apologized......but first impressions last.....and we will NEVER return to dine there again.

We went to Whispering Canyon Cafe last year for breakfast. The food was good and dont have any complaints there. But our server was terrible. She was crabby and didnt play along with the other servers who were making jokes and goofing off. Everyone else seemed to have a good time but our server brought our food out cold. When we asked for ketcup to hopefully get things going. She brought us one and said nothing. Very disappointing!!! :dog:

I have to qualify this answer by saying that we have been to Ohana twice. Once was fabulous, with the most engaging, pleasant server anyone could ask for.

And then there was...

The other time.

In a nutshell: We went to Ohana. Bartender: great. Host: great. Guy who seated us: Totally great.

The guy who waited on us, however, was downright AWFUL. After an initial round of chicken skewers, we sat there, plates empty, and watched sections of tables on either side of us (with different waiters) get serving after serving of shrimp, beef, pork, etc. Our section (three tables, same waiter) remained utterly devoid of service, lonely and starving. I was so bummed.

We called the manager the next day and explained our concerns, and he was nice enough to give us a refund. Made me feel much better about the idea of going back.

Well-I can hardly resist such a direct question.
Fultons is the leader in poor service. I'd characterize it as "indifferent, bordering on arrogant" You get the feeling that they could care less whether or not you enjoy your meal, or if you ever come back.
Should add that once in a great while (at other restaurants) we'll get service that isn't up to par, but Fultons is consistent.
Should also add that the service at most WDW restaurants has always been very good, to excellent.

Hands down for us is Planet Hollywood!!! We have been there a few times (our mistake) and they never can get our orders right...don't know what the big deal is...

Definitely Planet Hollywood. Arrived at 8pm. We took DS for his birthday, waited over an hour and a half to get a table - DH and I didn't want to go but DS was truly looking forward to it. After we were seated we were ignored except for refills on our drinks. It was very late and after an hour with no food, DS fell asleep! At that point it was VERY late, about 11pm, and DH blew his top. If you knew him you'd know he almost NEVER does that - he's very laid back. He asked the server what had happened, she scurries off, gets the manager, who tells us that the kitchen "lost" our order. Considering the number of drinks they kept bringing, the server should have realized that there was a snafu - she kept saying it would be right out.

It was our last full day in Orlando, so the comp cards and line cutting cards they gave us were useless. DS was incredibly disappointed. We wound up returning a year later (for lunch) and noticed that there wasn't as much of a crowd, and DS finally got fed, lol, but that had to be the absolute worst service we have received anywhere, not just in Disney.

The worst service I ever received was at Alfredo's. I have never been rushed like that in a full service restaurant. The waitor came, we ordered, the food came out in less than TEN minutes. I forgot to order salads. Of course the waitor never asked if we wanted any. Our entire dining experience took us 30 minutes. I would have felt more relaxed at counter service. There were not many tables filled either.

When we entered, the Masquerade show was about to start. It was still performing when we were done! Never, ever again.

Ohanas!!

The first time the service was so, so. No drink refills, had to ask many times for extras, etc.

The second time the service was horrid. We had to keep asking other servers for items, and to see if they could find our missing girl. What is the point of all-you-care-to-eat if you can't find someone to bring it to you? She finally showed up with the bill and said it was customary to leave at least 20% tip!?! She hadn't brought the pineapple yet--having dined here before, we asked for it and she acted like it was such a bother.

No, we didn't tip 20% and we will spend our money elsewhere from now on.
