Worst restaurant at WDW?

San Angel Inn...food was just bland and tasteless

Crystal Palace....horrible experience with character interaction and food was the same as other buffets so we now substitute with others.

Like some others have said...others worst are our favorites. Le Cellier, Cape' May, Nine Dragons, Sci-Fi, the Luau....etc I'm glad not everyone loves the one's I do or I would never get ADR's for them!:woohoo:

Spoodles - horrible food and service. my fiend ended up getting sick and going outside for most of the meal so he didn't upchuck in the restaurant.

Mama Melrose - terrible food and service again. Very slow. food was bland and just not good.

In defense of the Spirit of Aloha I have to say we really enjoyed the food. The veggies the ribs and chicken were great in my opinion. Although I did hear poor reviews on it before we went and I was skeptical as to whether or not we should cancel because my DH is extremely picky. Well I was so glad I didn't cancel. We loved it and my DH actually ordered 2nds on a few items ! So it really is just a matter of taste or perhaps even one's mood that particular day. It's interesting to hear what others might say about their experiences. Just do not let it steer you away. I say if you want to try something then do so. Remember, different strokes for different folks!

I must add a couple of my least favorites...Hollywood and Vine. (enjoyed it the 1st time, 2nd time it wasn't so good) Next, Crystal Palace Dinner. Did not care for the selections much at all. I did however find the CP Breakfast to be one of my favorites.
As for Boma, I absolutely loved it...but for my DH, like some others, he did not care for it at all. I can understand why Boma would be some peoples least favorite though, because of the different seasonings and spices they might use in the African style cooking. It might just be an acquired taste for some.
Otherwise, I think most of the food at WDW is fairly decent. It surely beats all the chain food and fast food restaurants back home IMO. ;)

I have never read a good review of Nine Dragons maybe because nobody goes there anymore. ;)

Just over the past couple of weeks I read some very favorable reviews of nine dragons. I have only been once. I have no desire to go back, just because I can walk down the block and get awesome chinese anytime, so I don't see the point to do so in Disney.

We personally love Biergarten and Crystal Palace breakfast and others hate it. To each his own.

I'm okay with San Angel Inn, but the Cantina was bad. The people were rude when I asked them to leave something off. It was something simple too, like the sour cream. They said, "That's the way we make it, period!" I thought that was stupid. Even McDonald's will eave stuff off a burger if you ask.

We also didn't care too much for Palio's (now gone), and Mama Melrose's (mainly due to REALLY bad service). The food was just alright, but that was quitea while ago. We haven't been back since.

a Lot of folks on the DIS rave about the FLame TRee Bar-B-Q, and we've never been that into it. WE always liked Tusker House much better. Now we'll have to see...

It is interesting, I think most people so far that have favorable comments are speaking more about quantity & not quality (some cruise mentality). IMO

(1) Worst dinner show (would include HDD, O'hana, Spirit of Aloha)
- Absolutely love HDD and Ohana. My family refuse to go to Luau:
my brother's e-mail address is based upon his hatred of the luau in fact. :rotfl2: Gotta vote for Spirit of Aloha..

(2) Worst Character meal
- They are all okay, just okay, no faves, maybe Ohana breakfast, no worst on my list....

(3) Worst table service restaurant
- Alright flamers, get ready to attack... I love virtually all WDW eateries, public places, and cast members... The only restaurants my wife and I really do not like are Liberty Tree tavern and Akershus (Norway).... Akershus due to the unusual offerings, nothing to do with service which was wonderful..

Here goes: Liberty Tree seems to be so loved. why? We found the food no where near as good as a home cooked turkey and ham dinner. I go on vacation to eat something different than the stuff mom used to thaw out and take out of a can at home!! (just kidding Mom, I love your cooking)

(4) Worst counter service restaurant. Far and away, that lousy burger joint that represents my home country in Epcot... Is that the best USA can do?? Why can't we have a nice restaurant like France, Canada, that level of quality, offering the likes of famous American pot roast, Maine Lobster, and a variety of wonderful dishes that are native to our homeland. Not 82% Beef on a stale bun!!

In conclusion, WDW has great restaurants, we love 'em... well, most of 'em!

Hrmm....

Dinner:
'Ohana (tried twice, both bad experiences - poor service, awful food, but a great view!)

1900 Park Fare - awful service... had an ADR, waited about 45 minutes while "walk-ups" were getting seated before us. Ended up leaving and going directly up to Citricos and immediately seated.

Tony's - expensive, bad food and really loud
Alfredo's - extremely crowded and food was just slightly better than Tony's (hopefully the replacement will be an improvement)

Hollywood & Vine - AWFUL!!! I couldn't believe people were waiting in line for that. What a disappointment. Let's just say I've completely given up on buffets at WDW with one exception - Boma. The food at H&V was cold and just all out gross. I usually don't have much trouble finding a dessert that I like at a buffet, but I tried a bunch of different ones and none of them were good... not even the powder mix ice cream!

Breakfast:
Spoodles (horrible food and service considering there were only about 10 other customers in the place). I didn't think you could mess up breakfast, but they did... I took one bite of the pancakes and couldn't stomach to even try any more. The waitress didn't even ask if something was wrong or if I wanted something else. Matter of fact, after she dropped off the food, she didn't come back until she brought the check.
(Now, the pizza from the Spoodles/Boardwalk window as REALLY GOOD!) We got that one night after leaving Epcot and heading back to our room at the BWV.

Please ignore me/my post. I have temporiarly lost my mind and posted a new post in an established thread.

Worst I can recall eating at food wise, was Tony's. Nobody liked what they had.

I wouldn't say I have had any bad meals at Disney. I will admit that Sci-Fi was a bit of a let down. The theme was interesting and orginal but the food was just so so. I was unimpressed by it.

That same trip we went to Cape May and I loved it. Then again I am a huge seafood person and the chance to eat all the clams and mussels I could want was too good to pass up.

I'm okay with San Angel Inn, but the Cantina was bad. The people were rude when I asked them to leave something off. It was something simple too, like the sour cream. I know it gets very crowded over there, but I have had rude CMs at the Cantina, too! Like the last time I decided to give it another chance, I know I like the chips and queso...

Me: I'd like the *whatever* and chips and queso please.
CM: It doesn't come with chips and queso.
Me: Ok, I'd like to add chips and queso.
CM: I said it doesn't come with chips and queso.
Me: May I please pay extra money for chips and queso????
CM: Yeah, sure.

I still really like their queso, so whenever I get some (which isn't often, because sheesh, it's $4!), I go to the counter and spell it out for them..."I would like to pay money for an order of chips and queso."

For TS it is a toss up between the Plaza and Biergarten. I wasn't impressed with either of these.

We love Oliva's, but go we there for lunch and have the Conch fritters and I love their soft shelled crab sandwich ...
Larry

Where is Oliva's? I love soft shelled crab. Where else can it be had???
Thanks

It's at OKW and I just looked at the menu and it's not on there now and that comment was based on eating there some years ago. Things change, but it's still a great lunch place IMHO and very laid back and relaxing. Can't remember the SSC being offered any place else at WDW including DTD.

Fulton's, hands down, no contest...only place we have SWORN never to set foot in again!

I've got to agree with San Angel on this list. Tried it for the first time this trip. I ended up in the bathroom immediately afterwards and threw up my entire meal. No joke. May have been my gal bladder acting up (very possible), but they really need to make an improvement on this restaurant. I can get better Mexican down the street at the local joint in town.
